Week 10: Minnesota at Oakland

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Fri Nov 13, 2015 6:22 am

Minny is 6-2 on the season, believe it or not, but that's accurate.
We happen to be hosting them this week and we're favored to win by 3 points. A bounce back win at home is exactly in-order for us and is much needed for us to regain our confidence.

Unless information:
The last time we face Minnesota was 11/20/11 OAK 27 - MIN 21

In the betting world, the public is putting their hard earned money on us, which is kind of surprising to me.

In the media world, the majority of the ESPN analyst are picking us to win, see the link below.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/picks

It's not any different with the Fox Sports "experts"
http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/nfl-expert-picks-2015-091015

We all know Fantasy Yahoo Pick'em is legit and must be accurate, so yes, the public is supporting Oakland as well.

well I might be jumping the gun here, but if we win this home game against the vikes, I can see us potentially steam rolling the next 3 games after. Lions are 1-7, Titans are 2-6, and KC is 3-5. we are visiting Lions and Titans and host KC.
ehhhhh f it.

I like where your head is at but we have to think one game at a time. Minnesota is a good team and will be tough to beat. Gonna need 48mins of good football.

Game Inactives

Raiders

CB Dexter McDonald
RB Roy Helu Jr.
LB Neiron Ball
C Rodney Hudson DAMNIT!!!!
OL Matt McCants
WR Rod Streater
TE Gabe Holmes

Vikings

QB Taylor Heineke
CB Josh Robinson
LB Eric Kendricks
C Nick Easton
DT Kenrick Ellis
OT Jeremia Sirles
DE Justin Trattou

KEYS TO THE GAME - per Levi Damien + Me

Nate Allen return impact on Raiders defense - It may seem at this point that too much is being made of a guy like Nate Allen. His return moves TJ Carrie back to cornerback which means he strengthens two positions. Charles Woodson - banged up shoulder and all - will also not have to carry so much of the load with Allen back in the lineup.

AP and Musgrave - Adrian Peterson had his monster 2012 season, compiling 2097 yards to lead the Vikings into the playoffs. Bill Musgrave was dialing up the plays for him then but Sunday Musgrave will watch his former workhorse back from the opposite sideline. Musgrave rode his workhorse back and was able to get more out of that team than most expected. He has a quarterback in Oakland who he can do a lot more with. And if anyone is familiar with Adrian Peterson and perhaps how to stop him (if that exists), it's Musgrave.

2014 draft class QB's showdown - There were four quarterbacks taken near the top of the 2014 draft. The last two of those four were Teddy Bridgewater (32) and Derek Carr (36). They have also proven thus far to be the best quarterbacks in the class ahead of the first two quarterbacks taken; Blake Bortles (3) and Johnny Manziel (22). And on Sunday, they will have their first regular season showdown in Oakland. Whether anyone wants to admit it, they will always be linked and Carr will always want to show out vs Teddy and the Viks.

Bergstrom vs Joseph - Joseph is a contender for Defensive Player of the Year and the Raiders will face him without their top center, Rodney Hudson, in the lineup. Bergstrom had never even played center until this season when the former third round compensatory pick at the guard position managed to crack the roster as a backup center. This will be Bergstrom's second career start and his first at the center position. Facing the 6-4, 328-pound Joseph is a pretty scary thought.

Week 10: Minnesota at Oakland

Will be curious to see if DJ is still starting, with TJ and Allen back.

Do we really want to see C-Wood playing in the box with one shoulder?

That play and drive wasn't going anywhere but DJ committed TWO penalties to give them the ball in scoring position.

Thanks Teddy! He takes a bad sack instead of easily throwing it away... maybe still a little foggy in the melon.

I don't like the look of this, we're sucking in all phases and lucky it's not 17-0 in the first, and with the Vikes about to score.

See I don't understand why Raiders don't do more of this - no huddle, pass first, run out of pass formations, us our speed to run it around the edge. Instead of huddling up and pounding it up the middle on first and second down. Why do we have to switch into a successful offense? Why not come out like this?
