Steelers fans are petitioning Vick's signing. I'm trying to remember if they had any petitions against Big Ben

OMG....

Vick is another guy I don't root for BUT the guy took his punishment, did Federal jail time and came back. He's paid his debt. Leave him alone IMO.

Steeler fans are a bunch of hypocrites. They'll dislike a guy--who paid his dues--for animal cruelty, but they'll root for a rapist. Vick is as good of a back up candidate as there is in the NFL, respect the guy for who he is now.

... And this is what you don't do when someone chooses the other QB: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/08/27/ryan-mallett-missing-from-texans-practice-and-they-wont-say-why/

Should have taken the Hoyer route and been professional for the sake of his future chances. Matt Cassel was professional leaving the Chiefs and got a chance.

Then folks post pictures of them doing exactly that. Suggs also engaged Bradford at the waist originally. It almost looks like Bradford pushed him down trying to shed tackle.

I stand by my position that this is much ado about nothing.

Just to be clear, because it wasn't from my previous posts, I agree with you in that this particular play wasn't dirty, as I agree that Bradford did move in a manner to get hit like that. I was just disagreeing with the idea that a team should be OK with what they think is dirty because they took the risk.

Speaking of Steelers, Martavis Bryant has been suspended 4 games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. He is currently appealing the suspension. This is bigger news because the Steelers face the 49ers in week 2.

No Bell, No Bryant, and I expect them to have a substandard Steelers D. Good for us.

Meh, he's not even supposed to be their second best receiver. Wheaton has been getting all the praise this offseason.

Chris Culliver & Steve Smith (Sr.) got into a minor kerfuffle Saturday night after Ravens WR Kamar Aiken was picked up from behind and pile-driven into the grass/turf by Redskins linebacker Keenan Robinson. Both Cully & Smith were ejected for their troubles.

Robert Griffin III - QB - Redskins

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Redskins "front office officials and coaches" want to move on from Robert Griffin III, but are "meeting resistance from team ownership."

It's no secret owner Dan Snyder played a major role in spoiling RG3, resulting in clashes with both the Shanahan and Gruden coaching staffs. It now sounds like GM Scot McCloughan is on board with cutting ties on Griffin, but Snyder isn't letting the move happen. Schefter reports the Skins have gone so far as to shop RG3 on the trade market, "but have found no interest." A split between the Redskins' organization and Griffin seems imminent.

Trent Richardson - RB - Free Agent

Raiders waived RB Trent Richardson.

Oakland will eat the $600,000 it guaranteed Richardson back in March. We figured the Colts' release of Richardson would serve as a swift kick in the pants for the former No. 3 overall pick, but he ended up reporting to Raiders camp overweight and didn't impress anyone in the organization this preseason, rushing for 42 scoreless yards on 15 carries (2.8 YPC) and breaking one measly tackle. Richardson is running out of chances, but we expect him to get one more.

Chuck Pagano entering make-or-break year with Colts

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000520538/article/chuck-pagano-entering-makeorbreak-year-for-colts?campaign=Twitter_atn

He'd be a highly intriguing coaching add if he doesn't get an extension. With that said, Pep Hamilton going back to his Niner days, has always been an intriguing coaching option for a few different positions and was always thought of a coach on the rise starting in SF.

Jay Glazer:

Cardinals trade a conditional late pick to Eagles for Matt Barkely. #Scoopage

Good. This means they might cut ties with Logan Thomas. They already have Palmer (obviously), Drew Stanton, Logan Thomas, and rookie Phillip Sims.

Palmer is a lock. Stanton is 31 and going into the last year of his deal. Barkley would probably come in as the 3 for now, Thomas, somewhat shockingly to me, has been shaky at best and Sims will be cut I would think. Unless they want to continue to hold onto Logan Thomas and cut ties with Stanton.

Cardinals trade late pick for QB Matt Barkley

Cardinals acquired QB Matt Barkley from the Eagles in exchange for a conditional late-round draft pick.

The Cardinals' interest in Barkley has been rumored since he came out of USC, but Arizona brass didn't deem Barkley worth of a day-two draft pick at that time. He went 98th overall to Philadelphia in 2013 and has since disappointed in preseason games. Barkley was probably going to get cut by the Eagles, perhaps in favor of Tim Tebow. In Arizona, weak-armed and barely-mobile Barkley will likely open the season on the third string behind Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton. The Barkley trade bodes poorly for Logan Thomas' chances of making the Cardinals' 53.
