Very interesting pick for the Niners. Hopefully a head on straight Aldon could give him some pointers.

I would love DGB with the 49ers but know way he drops that low plus a mock with no Cameron Erving in the 1st round loses all creditably IMO

Re: 2015 NFL Draft
It's so early to start speculating, but I'd be hard pressed to take a WR that will miss the entire season because he doesn't have his head on straight when the next pick is a CB. Particularly one that stands 6'1.

His name is Bryon Jones, best CB in the nation

Re: 2015 NFL Draft
I'm not really concerned with names at this point. Draft boards are going to shuffle and rearrange so much over the next 8 months that there will be guys with first round grades on no one's radar right now, and guys that are "top" prospects with 4th and 5th round grades (or worse).
I would just say that based on the current roster, CB will be a major concern for us next year.
Particularly with the rumours that Crabtree and the team are getting closer to a deal.

And to build on that, if I were to pick positions to target in next year's draft (again, no names, just position targets). These are not round predictions, it just turns out that there were 7 positions I listed:
1. CB
2. OG
3. SS
Significant gap
4. NT
5. WR
6. QB
7. OT
1. CB
2. OG
3. SS

4. NT
5. WR
6. QB
7. OT

I think QB should be ranked higher. Gabbert is looking McCoyesque out there. Our starting QB despite signing a mega deal, hasn't proven he can progress reads or takeover the offense when the clock runs down.
The Bethea concussion just might give Ward the starting job if he impresses enough. I think he can be an above average safety in the league.
Baalke is going to have to pay Boone eventually. Anthony Davis IIRC really struggles without them being paired up together. This is likely the best roster to win the whole thing, while next year there will be tons of question marks.

Boldin is gone in '16, Johnson is most likely gone in '17 and we still haven't signed Crabtree to anything, who's a FA after this season. I think WR should be a bit higher up.

If you're talking about last year, Davis played with a bum shoulder all year I believe.

Yeah, there is no way we get him with the 32nd pick.

Re: 2015 NFL Draft
DGB might be hard to pass up... but it depends on Crabtree resigning and we may or may not cut Stevie pending how he performs after the season.
Needs wise, I can see CB being top right now due to uncertainty... is this a strong CB class to begin with? if so, would we need to trade up to select the top gun?
NT still a question until we see what we have...
for QB, i'd prefer a vet to backup Kap...

They're some quality CBs this year but I doubt there will be any in the range that Baalke would trade up for.

I think CB, S is dependent on where the 49ers envision Ward playing.
If Ward is seen as a S
1. CB
2. WR
3. NT
4. OG
5. DE

I'm listing CB at the top even if Ward is seen as a CB. He's a slot CB, he will never play outside. Are we happy with Chris Culliver and Tramaine Brock as out top 2 CBs? And Culliver is a FA next year.
I'm probably the biggest Cully fan on the board, but CB is the #1 need regardless of where we project Ward.

Another RB I like - Ameer Abdullah - went off today for 227 yards. Insane RB class coming up.
I like the '15 draft MUCH, MUCH better than I did the '14 draft. One of the most overrated drafts I've ever seen. I still can't believe people we're talking about it being the deepest draft class in over two decades. Nonsense.

It was probably one of the most underrated QB class to date. Carr, Manziel, Teddy, and Bortles should all pan out for their respective squad.

Completely disagree with you on that.
