49er Injuries
Sorry if there's already a thread like this; didn't see one...
So Vance was supposed to be fine for last week's game; VD probably won't play, so will we finally see Vance McDonald 2.0? Maybe the version who can catch?

Still supporting Carrier.
I don't want to see Vance be a failed draft pick, but my man Carrier is a beast.

Vance is a beast in the run game at least.

Any word on Anthony Davis' status? The Niners could really use him on Sunday.

Doesn't sound like he will be as he wound up having a slightly torn MCL.

Maiocco's list a couple of days ago updating all the status of all the injured players.

So how long 'til Marcus Martin is ready to return? An article from August 25th said he'd be out 8 weeks. Does that mean he'll be back after the bye? Niners could seriously use him right about now.

According to Maiocco from that article I linked MM has already returned to practice on a limited basis and should be able to fully practice after the bye.

Nice.
Can't wait to see Staley, Iupati, Martin, Boone & Davis together...
...Not to mention Aldon & Aaron.

The only problem is that you might have to wait until next season to see the combination with the coaching staff's allergy to starting rookies.
I'm hopeful Martin can take the C spot at some point this season because he's by far more talented than Kilgore and Looney.
3rd and 1 might no longer be an issue running behind Martin and Iupati.

A rookie is going to have to start a Center no matter what. pretty sure Harbaugh said that last night

Well looks like I was wrong and Martin will get the first crack at C.
And in other good news a lot of guys that missed last night should be back for the Rams game.

Seems like we won't have to worry about Bowman being a step slower when he returns since he might wind up being a step faster.

I'm not calling anybody out specifically because a large percentage of sports fans do it, writers usually, but I love when they think a player got faster solely because he can now run a faster 40 time than the one or two times he ran at the combine or pro day.
Most players don't run what they're fully capable of running at the combine or their pro day. That gets into the topic of me screaming from the mountain tops every February-April it seems like that I don't want to hear anybody's opinion on a 40 time, fan or writer, unless they actually saw how that player looked while running that specific time. I just don't. I have little usage for it personally. Not talking about Bowman specifically here because I don't mean this isn't significant for his recovery, mindset, etc., but 40 times really get me going when the wrong people start to talk about them.
In this case, however, I know for a fact that Bowman had 4.55 timed speed as a pup in college so I'm not necessarily certain either that we can say that Bowman is or will be faster timed speed wise.

Now if only we will stop seeing all these players going down in games and can stay relatively healthy.

True but at least it alleviates some concerns that he could potentially lose a step. So even if he doesn't wind up faster it also doesn't look like he lost his speed as well (hopefully)
Of course a better indication is how well he can plant and burst not how fast he can run in a straight line.

Re: 49er Injuries
I really hope Vernon is truly healthy again. Colin has actually been looking pretty good lately - his collapse in the second half against Denver aside - and having Davis to stretch the field and threaten the seam would be a big asset for this team. Lately, he's been more of a liability than a benefit to the offense.
