Kevin White - WR - Bears

Bears first-round pick Kevin White underwent surgery Sunday to repair the stress fracture in his left shin.

The Bears have openly acknowledged that White's injury could cost him his entire rookie year. At minimum, White will miss the first six games on the reserve/PUP list. The team still has not provided a concrete return timetable.

Sammie Coates - WR - Steelers

Sammie Coates caught two passes for 60 yards in the Steelers' third preseason game.

We saw the good and bad from Coates in this game. He got three steps on rookie Packers CB Quinten Rollins in the third quarter, but a badly thrown ball allowed Rollins to recover and hold Coates to a 54-yard gain. Coates also dropped two passes, the second of which was a bad concentration drop with no defender around. Coates oozes physical upside, but he will be no better than fourth on the depth chart when the season begins.

Rookie DE Leonard Williams recorded 5 total tackles including three tackles for loss and two sacks against the Falcons Friday night.

Williams scored the Jets' first points of the night when he took down T.J. Yates in the end zone early in the second quarter. One drive later, Williams got free on an inside twist and took Sean Renfree down in the backfield. With Sheldon Richardson suspended the first four games and Muhammad Wilkerson dealing with a hamstring injury, the Jets need Williams to make an impact early.

I was there live, watching Williams do what he did.... and not to turn this into another anti-Armstead post but i'm like gtfo we took a duck in the first?

reality just keeps remind me.

Jameis Winston - QB - Buccaneers

Jameis Winston completed 8-of-13 passes for 90 yards in the Bucs' second preseason game Monday night.

The Bucs' first-team offense was lightyears better than it was in the preseason opener, but still could only manage seven points on five possessions. The opening drive was absolutely perfect with Doug Martin carrying the offense down the field behind 57 yards on five carries. Winston topped it off with a one-yard touchdown run on a bootleg to the right. He still missed some throws high and was unable to hook up with Mike Evans on two deep shots. The offensive line also gave up too much pressure and ultimately forced Winston out of the game early in the second quarter after he appeared to hurt his ankle on a sack.

Benardrick McKinney - LB - Texans

Texans rookie ILB Benardrick McKinney has a mild MCL sprain.

He's expected to sit out Houston's third preseason game, but won't miss extended time. McKinney should return before for Week 1.

Eli Harold - LB - 49ers

49ers rookie OLB Eli Harold has shown well in training camp.

A third-round pick this year, Harold could be asked to fill a big role on defense following the indictment of Ahmad Brooks on sexual battery charges. With Aldon Smith already cut following an off-the-field incident, Harold and sophomore Aaron Lynch are expected to start the third preseason game. 2013 third-round pick Corey Lemonier could also get snaps with the first-team defense.

Dion Bailey - DB - Seahawks

Dion Bailey is expected to start at strong safety if Kam Chancellor's holdout continues into the regular season.

A sophomore UDFA out of USC, Bailey's playmaking ability has vaulted him to the top of the depth chart in Chancellor's absence. "He had an amazing ability to get to the ball, a bunch of interceptions," said Seahawks’ assistant head coach for defense Rocky Seto. "It’s shown up on the field in practices and hopefully it translates into games, too." Even when Chancellor is back, Bailey should make an impact as Seattle's No. 3 safety.

What's the word on Thomas? Is he in line to play? Asked me Hawks fan buddy, but he hasn't responded.

Oh, and Bailey's a second-year player, Bingo. ;-)

Bailey is one of their more intriguing reserves that they have IMO. I think he could surprise some people if he ever earns enough of a chance to get enough eyes on him.

Rashad Greene - WR - Jaguars

Fifth-rounder Rashad Greene could begin the season as the Jaguars' No. 3 receiver.

Marqise Lee remains week to week with a hamstring injury, and Greene has come on after a slow start to camp. "(He's) making strides," said WRs coach Jerry Sullivan. "He has a lot of tools and we like what we see." Greene missed the Jags' first preseason game before catching two passes for 14 yards in the second. Regardless of Greene's Week 1 title, his biggest rookie contributions should come on special teams.

Tyler Lockett just had a punt return TD that went for sixty something yards.

Been saying for a few years now that I wanted this guy in a Niners jersey. Of course we don't draft him though.

To make it worse, Frank Clark is equally as impressive or even more impactful down the line. Those two picks really scares me.

A lot of people were saying this about Jalen Saunders too, especially after Mayock began driving that wagon. I'll take DeAndre Smelter everytime over Lockett.
