interesting... didn't pay attention to him once he left but if he's the player we had before that's great.

this wr payday market is nuts... I wonder if that could end up forcing us to trade after all. I'm not sure this financial status for players is sustainable. feels like the housing market... i think the fiscally responsible parties are going to come up over those putting their eggs into a player or two.

What do you think the Hawks should do with Metcalf?

I think there's a real possibility now that they deal him.

I wouldn't trade him unless I got a top 10-15 pick. I think if you got back the Jets pick #10. You do it. Eagles pick at 15?

if you can get 10... might do it.

They need to cut Meyer and draft a K to save 4 mill, as well.

I really hope they lock him up. Dealing him to a team like KC or GB would be a massive mistake.

The good teams find a way to manipulate the cap. We're not one of those at the moment.

I think it's pretty clear now that they're going to deal Metcalf before the draft. If someone bites. Gather as much draft capital as possible. There are just too many holes to fill on this team. The gap in talent (NFC West) is continuing to widen. Every indication is that they intent to trade the 9th pick (move back).

He’s hearing Seattle’s preference is to trade down from the #9 pick to acquire more stock to aid their rebuild. He noted that trading a receiver (D.K. Metcalf) could do the same job of generating draft capital.

Their options are limited.

ugg slippery slope to try to rebuild though they did do it to start an epic run once before.

Once you decide to move on from Russ, I don't think they really have a choice.

The offensive line is a complete shambles. How are you going to fix it? Especially when your coach wants to run the ball & control the clock. You refuse to address it in free agency. So It has to be a priority in the draft. Having an extra 1st could go a long way in fixing it. Also with the depth at WR, you can grab one on day two of the draft.

well Curhan was actually pretty good at RT, Shell is around but injury prone, and Duane is still out there maybe waiting for that June 1 money or what a few teams do in the draft. I would argue we had an upgrade to center while we have two good guards, so I haven't given up on the line being reasonable

also supposedly Geno is holding out for bigger money?! hah what? I don't see him having any other suiters at all, so I see this as them having hope for something else potentially. Does Geno think he's starting for Pitt or Atlanta? no.

My guess is they're likely offering close to the vet minimum. He's holding out for more since he could be the starter. I don't really blame him. My hope is they don't bring him back. Mayfield could be let go at some point. Cleveland might have to eat a large portion of his deal either way. Worse case- Lock is the starter.
