Re: Around the NBA
76ers and Javale McGee working on a buyout. Has to be completed by the end of the day in order for him to be playoff eligible. I wouldn't mind seeing him as DJ's backup honestly.

No excuses for Doc not to get JaVale, IMO. Hawes simply cannot play anything more than garbage-time minutes.

Re: Around the NBA
Javale would bring rebounding, athleticism and shot blocking to our 2nd unit. None of which we don't have.

totally agree with Barnes.
Harden should have been run from the game.

Re: Around the NBA
A Giant Shadow: Did Wilt Chamberlain have a son? Levi may be living proofAaron Levi wanted to know who he was, where he came from, where he belonged. His curiosity was born of a feeling that he was different. He was a biracial child adopted by a white couple when he was six months old. Taller than his schoolmates at almost every age, he was 6' 5" by the time he left high school. He was also gay—and, he said, desperately trying to hide it.
At South Eugene (Ore.) High in the early 1980s he passed himself off as a New Waver, shaping his hair into a flattop, listening to British reggae. He loved to draw, and he began to identify as an artist. Because of his height and color, he said people assumed that he played basketball. But he had little interest in sports. In 2003, nearing 40, Levi finally began to search for answers to his questions. When he found and spoke with his biological mother, he heard in her accent that she was British. But that wasn’t the most surprising revelation. Levi was told that his biological father was the most transformative player in pro basketball history and one of the most transcendent athletes of the 20th century.

Re: Around the NBA
btw, Wes will be 29 in October….but more importantly, a free agent this offseason.
I don't think he will be washed up after this.
I think he can bounce back relatively well. He'd be worth a 1 year with a team option and at good money.
he was going to get a nice contract this summer too.
SMFH. He's a cool cat man. He comes and hoops around Madison in the summer…plays hard and treats us with respect etc. etc.

Re: Around the NBA
That's' tough news about Matthews. I love what he brings to the table and have felt that he'd be a great fit here (and lot of other places for that matter). It's just a very unfortunate time for him to have such a serious injury. It's possible that he'll be ready to go near the start of the upcoming season, but a safer bet would probably be Dec/Jan.
Free-Agency...that sucks. He's likely taking a pay cut for longer-term security or betting on himself by taking a bigger short-term deal.
I thought he had himself "fixed".

I think we end up getting 3rd seed. I don't really want to get to #2 because of San Anotonio. I'd rather Memphis deal with them first off.

Hassan acted like Kelly was pinning him down. If Hassan wants to be a successful big man in this league he needs to learn there is contact at his position. Not everyone will magically move out of your way. Kelly barely had his hand on him.
