Not sure of this. I like KMart & I think him staying may make Chauncey sign for less.
I think we need to wait & see who is available, KG cries more than my 13 year old daughter.

I like K-Mart too, but there's a limit to what he can do on the floor, it's just the reality. Also, I'm pretty sure Chauncey will not ask for more money if the team were to sign KG, it would probably make him more inclined to re-sign for a good amount.

In terms of the crying, that is true, but I'll take being a solid team and winning over avoiding a player who is good in every other way except that he's kinda annoying.

^ I could live with the annoying KG.

1. Trade Mo and 3 million cash to Portland for a future 2nd round pick.

2. Amnesty Gomes

3. Renounce Foye,Thompkins,Leslie and KMart

4. Sign KG for 4years/32.5million

5. Sign Nick Young for 4years/12million

6. Sign Foye for 2years/5million

7. Sign Thompkins and Leslie to minimum contracts

8. Sign decent wing player for vet minimum. Maybe somebody like Pietrus, Miles or JHoward.

PF-Griffin/Evans/Thompkins
SF-Young/Butler/Pietrus
C-Garnett/Jordan
PG-Paul/Bledsoe
SG-Billups/Foye/Leslie

The bench is comprised of 3 NBA starters and 2 great energy guys in EBled and Evans.

Yup, that's kinda why it's a hope and we don't really see it as extremely likely unless Boston decides to change directions in what they want to do. But it would be the best move for the team.

And that's how he left Minnesota to Boston right?

If KG were to come here, he would play starter's minutes and be of starter's importance due to his offensive skills. The only reason his minutes would be limited would be to keep him fresh throughout a game (and the season.)

We already have an undersized big posing as a back-up C (Kenyon Martin) why get another oldie in Garnett?

Garnett is 6'12, or what the rest of us refer to as 7'0 tall. He's as undersized as Tyson Chandler is as they are essentially the same weight / body type. Kenyon Martin is 6'9, though he has a longer reach, and therefore plays taller, he's shorter than Blake!

The comparison is not close in any way, shape or form, not to mention that Garnett is better in every single offensive and defensive aspect imaginable. If one is to get Garnett, then Martin would not be returning. The big man depth chart could be filled out with Reggie Evans and/or some 6'11-7'0 guy that weighs a lot (Aaron Gray type of guy, Kwame Brown except that money probably wouldn't work).

madmax, you are correct, KG would get about 28-30 MPG at PF/C, most of it at C, and about 12 MPG at PF (whatever Blake doesn't play). This would leave 30-32 MPG at C. So technically, if one just ran the 3 big rotation of Blake / KG / DJ, DJ could still play 30 MPG at C, even off the bench. Hopefully DJ has worked with Hakeem and has fine tuned his game and therefore isn't getting pulled out and doesn't grab those minutes in that kind of scenario.

This is all hypothetical since I don't even know what he or Boston have planned for the future. But KG would be a great fit here. His physical skills are declining, but his offensive skills would nicely complement DJ and Blake, who conversely are both AAA athletes but still developing skills-wise.

Yeah, if we got him then Kenyon Martin is definitely gone. We'd probably want to keep Reggie Evans since he has a role on this team and fills it well (and will be cheaper than keeping Kenyon.) I hope we keep Chauncey next year, but if we lose him then KG provides great vet presence that Chauncey has given us even while injured.

It would also be fun to see what CP3 and KG could do 2-man. For a big man, KG has a lot of spots on the floor he can score from, and CP3 would probably do a great job of spotting him.

If you really think he left Minny for Boston & didn't cry on camera cause he didn't wanna quit on Minny & refused to demand a trade & then Kevin McHale himself had to tell it to KG's face that there not building around him anymore their gonna blow it all up & you're not in the future plans so pick where you'd like to go out of there 5 teams.

Yeah that pretty much shows how KG is AS LOYAL AS THEY COME. You wouldn't know anything about that though because you're longest tenured player is D. Jordan.

No offense other clip fans but the fact you say KG isn't loyal just shows that you know nothing. SMH!

Cares is a Laker fan. The majority are looking at KG as a hypothetical possibility. Is it likely? No. If it's possible, then it's something that we and host of other teams would be interested in. Don't take it so personal.

I don't care how "loyal" KG is, he's not sticking around for a rebuilding process at this stage of his career. I think the Clippers should go after him and wouldn't be surprised if they did. He'd start immediately at center, his midrange game would open things in the paint for Griffin, and his defense would help the team immensely.

Another possibility, albeit FAR less likely, is Tim Duncan, who is also an unrestricted free agent this summer.

I can say with certainty that the Duncan possibility is in the negative, yes, even less than 0%, there's a higher chance of Olshey giving the Spurs a random draft pick than of Duncan leaving them

Garnett would be an outstanding acquisition for you guys. I dont see it happening for a few reasons though.

1. With how well KG has played in these playoffs i think the Celtics will outbid anything you guys can offer. They really aren't rebuilding quite yet, they will have a ton of capspace this offseason with a poor class of available free agents. I think they will try to roll over that space to the summer of 2013 while remaining competitive next season.

2. KG loves Doc Rivers. Like full on man crush love. As long as the Celtics don't low ball him, if they want him back hes back.

3. KG may just retire. Hes different then most professional athletes. Hes never been the type who wants to bounce around from team to team at the end of his career just to stick in the league. I get the feeling that if he cant get what he wants in a contract from the Celtics he may just say screw it i"m done.

I'm a Celtics fan so i really hope you guys don't get him as i want him back. But my god would you love him. He would instantly turn the Clips into a top 5 defensive team. He does not allow guys to check out defensively. The Celtics have had some bad defenders the last few years, but it was not due to lack of effort because KG does not allow that.
