What are we gonna do about Donald Sterling- (Clipps reborn!)

From a long time Laker fan to the many Clipper fans of this board, congrats on Mr.Ballmer as your new owner. I know many of you here may find it hard to believe that a Laker fan is giving props to you guys, but that situation last spring was more than just about ball.

That said I'm looking forward to seeing how the Clippers further distant themselves from the past. I look forward to seeing how two teams in the same city with serious cash flow compete against each other now.

Appreciate the kinds words and And 1's here. I don't think a lot of people on the outside understands what it's like to a Laker fan sometimes. We often get lumped together as this "delusional" fan base (the favorite word of outsiders), and while I'd admit that some do think way out the realm of reality when it comes to ball...I try to be one of the more knowledgeable and unbiased fans.

Bottom line for me is I'm a fan of the NBA as well as my team, so I pride myself on being able to have knowledge on several subjects of the league.

But yeah Roscoe I wish it was more like me too. Our board has some pretty unbiased fans when it comes to the team, not all of us see everything as rosy as the overboard Laker fan does.

Quick question for Clipper Nation....

Now that Ballmer is boss, there has been what seems to me media propaganda trying to stir up the Seattle situation. For me personally it would be foolish of Ballmer to even conceive such though of a move north. It's not like Staples is some dump he needs to escape. Seattle is a long ways off from a new building, and I know they have support there but like I said no building is there yet.

Do you guys have any concerns over that ? Personally I don't see it happening at all.

Zero concerns from me. Ballmer has already said multiple times the team is staying in LA.

I am very slightly concerned, but I also think it is highly unlikely he'd move the team. I think we will know that he is for sure committed when the lease agreement comes up again or if he makes an attempt to buy the arena (which has been rumored)

I don't know if he can take over LA, but he's gonna be a real player in this town. As far as it being a "Laker town"....well truthfully that's starting to be subjective now.

I mean for the first time the pie is really slicing into a lot of pieces,the Clippers are winning, the Kings just won their second Cup for 2 out of the last 3 years. The Dodgers have been championship level now for the last few years and seriously looking at it now it could be a I-5 freeway World Series if things go right. And the Duck aren't too shabby either.

This is the first time ever that I can remember the my team now having to fight for some footing so to speak.

He just spent $2 billion... he'd be the worst businessman ever if he moved the Clippers out of LA. Sure Seattle has a big fan base and deserves a team and i'm sure he wishes they get a team but there is no way he is going to make a massive financial loss just for that. Clippers stay in LA for the next 10 years at least.

Sorry. I was hesitant to bring it up, but with a slow news day and the fact that details will be leaked through the trial, I figured we might as well prepare ourselves whether we actually want to follow along or take steps to avoid the media circus that could ensue.

Yeah, DTS has not dropped his suits, but did you really expect him to? At this point, that is all he has left in order to remain relevant even if it is at the expense of delaying the receipt of his cut from the sale of the franchise to Ballmer.
