They are going to change that P.O.S. logo in a year or two...right? RIGHT?

looked on the Clipper store. that could have some value to me living in the midwest.
for $500 bucks, that logo better not change until I'm 60. I'd actually get the championship years patched on if we put them up.

lol….and if i bought that.

The logo will grown on you eventually. Same thing that happened with the Kings' current logo. I initially hated it but I learned to live with it.

I really like the 76ers new jerseys. Kind of a new school throwback.

The Clippers have discussed different names for the mascot — “Seagull Knievel” was declined — and are still in the developmental stages of coming up with a name, the official said.

Ballmer's Likely #ClippersMascot Considerations

Post#208 » by Ranma » Wed Sep 2, 2015 9:47 pm

In light of the news that the Clippers are working on a mascot for the team, I came up with some concepts that are likely under consideration based on Steve Ballmer's recently unveiled logo and uniform re-designs. Without further ado, I present to you fine folks the likely Clipper mascots being considered besides Microsoft Word's Clippy:

1) Ballmer goes Hollywood with the misunderstood Edward Clipperhands.

Image

2) Inspired by our new owner's Seattle roots, we target nerds and geeks with a cross-promotional opportunity with the coffee-loving starship fighter pilot Starbuck sponsored by Starbuck's Coffee.

Image

3) Following in the footsteps of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, the Clippers choose to partner up with a major media company in presenting Disney's Lame Duck. Is it too far to suspect that the name is inspired by our head coach and president of basketball operations?

Image

4) Playing on the nautical theme while appealing to the untapped market for little girls, we have Sailor Uranus.

Image

5) Why not capitalize on the superhero momentum with Clipper Man?

Image

6) And finally, nothing embodies Microsoft's place in the tech scene during Ballmer's tenure more than a slow-moving robot. Meet ClipBoto.

Jamal can be our mascot :) Rainbow 3's at halftime. Every time we score he can do fancy dribble moves. Every time we're on D, he can just stand there. He probably won't even know he's not playing.

like I said. The hate is overhyped. That court looks dope on 2K.

the road jersey is just terrible.

I love the secondary logo and the home jerseys are growing on me. Everything else is awful.

Im sorry if I missed anyone else's post prior, but am I the only one who thinks that new Clipper logo in the center court looks just like the 76ers? NVM that the logo standing alone looks like the Chicago Cubbies', Im sure everyone can see that.

the home jersey works for me, although I don't feel compelled to buy one anytime soon. Im sure my wife will be all over the new Blake's Jersey tho.
ehhhhh f it.

Thanks for Nothing, Gillian Zucker

Post#214 » by Ranma » Fri Oct 23, 2015 6:12 am

Paul Lukas, ESPN.com (10/22/15)
  • Lots of unhappy campers in L.A., where the Clippers have unveiled a new visual identity that nearly everyone agrees was a poorly conceived rush job (further info here and here, plus here's a Uni Watch critique and a look at some vastly superior redesign concepts by Uni Watch readers):

There will also be a black alternate uniform. It hasn't yet been officially unveiled, but an early leaked mock-up and a more recent image of guard Lance Stephenson taking part in a promotional photo shoot suggest that it won't be pretty:

As is usually the case, the new uniforms are being paired with a new court design:

Wammy Giveaway wrote:Clips Nation beat writer Justin Russo reveals that there is a rift. And it's all because of the logo.

(from Panic Over Patience: A Logo Story: http://www.clipsnation.com/2015/9/12/9299611/panic-over-patience-a-logo-story)

Purportedly, in late 2014, Gillian Zucker addressed the Clippers in-house design team and stated that she wanted a rebrand. There’s usually zero problem with doing that. Teams do it all the time and come up with new designs over a few years and make it work for themselves. The issue in this case is that Zucker urged the team that she wanted to unveil the new logo and stuff by June 2015. We’re talking doing everything she wanted within the time frame of roughly seven or eight months. That’s a tall task; and the staff let her know that it wasn’t enough time and that it would take approximately a year to do everything properly. She was not onboard with that idea.

Because of the design staff effectively informing her that it would take longer than she liked, Zucker then outsourced the logo to the Heat design team. In some ways that is a conflict of interest since, after all, they are part of the same umbrella of corporations – so to speak. In other ways, when someone allegedly offers you $1 million to do the job, you find a way to do the job and do it quickly. And so they did. In fact, they did it in approximately six or so weeks. Why did she pick the Heat? My source divulged to me that she has a peculiar liking to the Heat organization – as well as the Brooklyn Nets. This is where the all-black alternate uniforms that the Clippers might be wearing this season come into play.

...

Furthermore, the source informed that this is part of the reason why Zucker is looked at unfavorably inside the Clippers organization. Few like her at all and many find her oblivious. While no one can doubt that Zucker has a keen sense of business practice due to her time in NASCAR, it seems like she might be out of her element when it comes to the basketball landscape and dealings of this magnitude. She is also the reason that an unnamed player – one who I actually do happen to know the name of – decided not to return to the Clippers this upcoming season. There’s also a supposedly interesting non-Zucker related story surrounding Doc Rivers but that will have to be for a far later time.

Long story short, Zucker could get fired for having another team do the Clipper's logo.

Home and blue alternates are solid. Red roads are terrible. Black are ok at best, I like the black but the logo on the jersey looks bad. Court is fine.

Compared to our regular uniforms, the Christmas version looks pretty good.

Yup. I like the Christmas unis.

I still hope we get a new logo soon. Hearing that sucker rushed it makes so much sense. Stupid decision. This is exactly what happens when people arbitrarily fabricate due dates and demand fast results.
