Its a mystery to all. Wasn't there another game like this where someone just got ejected out of nowhere instead of just getting a T? Was it JJ also?

No, it was Jamal Crawford. He was ejected on a single technical, however.

My fear was, because of Chris Paul criticizing the female rookie referee during their loss to the Cavs, that the gloves were coming off. One tech, you're out of the game. That would be the ref's exclusive rule against the Clippers. Normally, you're thrown out for fighting, as was witnessed by Alex Len and Hassan Whiteside tonight. Given their reputation, the Clippers jawing at the referees would be an exception. I thought it happened again tonight.

I went to the NBA Box Score and saw that Redick did get two techs. The first was on a double technical with Flip Saunders. Also, two Rivers names appeared on the technical fouls list.

Baby Rivers got a double tech with KG. Doc was simply for his constant arguing. didn't see enough replays to see the merit of JJ's techs though.

I love seeing good defense. I was wondering why Austin stayed in the game but his defense was stellar tonight. Jordan Hamilton is definitely staying the rest of the season. Still can't believe the game Big Baby had tonight. I hate Hawes camping out at the three point line

Just glad to get out of MN with a W. Wasn't pretty from what I see. I checked at one point we were up like 28-14, then next time I checked when I was leaving work and we were down 1 after 3.
With Barnes out, Jamal leaving hurt, JJ tossed and Baby fouling out it's good to see we were able to hold on late. GG

Honestly I'd rather Hawes take a bunch of 3s then have him pump fake a bunch and end up either wasting shock clock or him taking an off the dribble long range 2.

I remember when Hamilton used to light up the Clippers when he was on Denver. He can get hot from 3- he looks like a shooter and he has legitimate small forward size.

Anybody notice that we didn't really miss Jamal out there when he went down with the calf injury.. can't beat defensive effort and ball movement on the offensive side of things

i have been saying this for years now, that Jamal is a netzero player and having JJ and Blake in the 4th quarter playing lazy defense has a lot to do with why our team defense as a whole looks terrible and we have to be in overdrive on offensive end to out-score everyone, every time in the 4th to win games.

i can't trade JC now anyway, nobody wants a 35 year old chucker or however old he is. I think he still can add a ton of value when our second unit offense stalls, but I do think Jamal's minutes needs to be watched and i want him more in less crucial minutes.

i love Austin's defense. I like what Jordan Hamilton has shown today, hopefully he is good enough that we can plug him to start and take barnes back to strengthen our second unit's defense and rebounding. I thought Dahntay Jones showed good tools to be a useful piece today too.

in the end, we may not have made any blockbuster trade but having DJ grow in absence of Blake is going to be more impactful than anything we could have traded for.
ehhhhh f it.

So that's all it took for JJ to get tossed, lame. Glad we won though

That's ridiculous though, wow.

Clippers are really holding the fort with Blake's absence, currently 7-3. Paul and Jordan have really stepped up and led the way:

Paul:
21.2 ppg / 4.6 rpg / 12.6 apg / 1.5 spg / 2.5 tpg / 52% FG / .598 TS%

Jordan:
15.8 ppg / 19.2 rpg / 1.5 spg / 1.8 bpg / 66.3% FG / .597 TS%

Current record: 40-21 (.656)
Looking at the remaining schedule (21 games):

Portland

Blake Griffin Possibly Returns

@Golden State
Minnesota
@Oklahoma
@Dallas
Houston

"Easy" Schedule Begins

Charlotte (24-33)
@Sacramento (20-37)
Washington (34-26)
New Orleans (32-28)
@New York (12-46)
@Philadelphia (13-47)
@Boston (23-34)
Golden State (46-12)
@Portland (39-19)
@Denver (20-39)
@Los Angeles (16-42)
Los Angeles (16-42)
Memphis (42-16)
Denver (20-39)
@Phoenix (31-30)

6 more games of the "hard" schedule and the last 15 games of the season has 6 teams >.500. 2 of those teams, Washington and Phoenix are not really playing so well at the moment either. The other 9 teams in that span have 25 wins or less so far.

The same winning percentage the rest of the way would put the Clippers at 54 wins, 14-7. I think based on the schedule the Clippers can definitely win 15-16 the rest of the way and finish the season with about 55-56 wins, and if they go hard and demolish the mediocre to poor teams and split with the top teams they could go 17-4 the rest of the way.

i saw the game last night but just watched replays... my god how do those refs even have jobs? they have to have been the same ones that let harden kick lebron without bothering to toss him from the game.

hard to stomach all this incompetence.

There's selective bias going on in the NBA. When a referee is working with other teams, they'll get fair treatment. But if that team in question is the Clippers, "No, no, no, no, NO! You're getting nothing from me! Either shut up, or I'll throw you out." It's catching on.

I asked Larson Ishii of Clips Nation if whether the referees will commence ejecting Clipper players immediately on a single technical in the playoffs. He disagrees: "The playoffs are probably too big a stage for the referees to have that quick a whistle," he answers.

But if the referees do start this practice, then the Clippers will be forced to be on their best behavior. I'll be keeping an eye on this as the regular season concludes.

I think it's our own fault for being such whingers. JJ didn't derserve either tech but that's what happens when the whole team is constantly pissing off the reff. We should have a rule where only Doc, CP and Blake are allowed to talk to the ref. I have never seen a ref change his/her decision when a player like Barnes argues, it only gets worse.

Of course their players whining may play a role, but I've watched many other teams whine a lot too. It is not like the Clippers have a monopoly on that field. I know the refs are only human, but the NBA should try to discipline refs that show such overt bias.

Well to be honest, the game was reffed wildly, but not specifically one way or another, but the JJ ejection just didn't make much sense.
