We better come out tonight like we're down 1-3. I don't want this going back to LA. Paul and a few others need the rest for our West Conference Finals matchup.

Once again 'conventional wisdom' rears its ugly head & puts us in a position for a loss tonight. I'd like to think McHale is out of answers and his players are ready to 'quit', but...

-The Rocket's haven't lost 3-in-a-row all year.
-Harden is due for a 40-point, MVP-like performance.
-Josh Smith/Trevor Ariza/Jason Terry are likely to awaken tonight.
-They are at home with their season on the line, I expect another 45+ free-throw night for the 'home-team'.

-The Clippers were all smiles after going-up 3-1 on Sunday; haven't seen us that relaxed all year...feels like we're going to take tonight's game for granted.

The Clippers defied 'conventional wisdom' by beating the Spurs in a Game-7; lets see if they can do it again by beating the Rockets 3-times-in-a-row and closing them out on their own floor.

24 Seconds with...Chris Paul

How do you guys approach a closeout situation?

CP:
“I think we’ve just got to come out and have an aggressive mentality. Closeout games, I’ve been on both sides of them. A lot of times when you’re in that situation, you’re somewhat desperate. So I think tonight, we have to be the team that plays like we’re desperate. We’ve got to be the hungrier team and come out ready to play.”

Where has this team grown the most?

CP:
“Just realizing that it’s not always going to be pretty every night. I think the fact that our core has been together so long now, we understand the grind, how tough it’s going to be and that there’s going to be adversity. The thing we always talk about is don’t be frontrunners. Don’t be that. Nobody likes that.”

Does that confidence stem from the Spurs series?

CP:
“That helped, but we talked about that before then. Obviously going through that series, being up, then being down, I think we can draw from that and understand that when you win or lose a game, the series is never over. Just like when we won in LA the other day, we said 3-1, it’s not over. You’ve got to finish. That’s been the theme of our season.”

I believe we win this. my only concern is the refs. lets hope the nba will allow a series to fall short of 7 games.

RUN IT UP HERMAN! LEAVE NO DOUBT!

one of my fav lines. good post Ranma.

Like i said in another thread.
if we win tonight and GSW-Mem goes 7, we can buy ourselves a week of rest because their Game 7 would be Sunday.

This game is important to me. We need to get it done here and rest our guys.

really curious what % cp3 is at tonight. his first game back he was pretty limited defensively. he moved faster the previous game. would be nice to see him moving better tonight. i'd feel pretty good about him being near 100% by the time WCF rolls around if he's zipping around on defense today.

Bill Kennedy is the alternate on tonight's crew. He's the ref that has had a longstanding beef with Doc. He officiated game 5 in the first round.

Don't Beat Yourselves

Clips not doing themselves any favors by passing in mid-air for turnovers and missing open shots. We can't let them build confidence at home. Take them out early and hard.

With no DJ we're having trouble rebounding, we'll just have to box out and try to make it through this stretch.

Dwight Howard is the best athlete on the floor, Reggie? Uh...you do realize that Blake Griffin is also playing, right?

Really sloppy start, but we're only down 2. Need to collect ourselves.
