Yeah at this point let's just bring in some undrafted free agents, there's only a few picks left. Not worth sending the money over to another team.

Deal or No Deal?

Clippers lose out on another prospect they were reportedly interested in...or maybe bought it from Pelicans.

I know we were targeting Dawson, so not too bad if we get him

Not a bad choice. I wrote about him a month ago. Super athletic, really good defender, will rebound but he cant shoot at all (0-9 from three during his 4 years).

Im assuming he will fill Baby's role at PF and possible defend some SFs depending on the lineups.

I think he can fit into the rotation eventually and take some of Baby's minutes if he makes the team. Definitely think he will play more than a guy like Wood would have.

Ford and Fraschilla's Take on Dawson

Post#155 » by Ranma » Fri Jun 26, 2015 4:38 am

Maybe he can be our Tony Allen.

Jonathan LeBlanc, Detroit Free Press (6/25/15)
ESPN draft analyst Chad Ford said in a conference call today that Dawson could get drafted, especially after "consistently" shining while guarding elite prospects in predraft workouts. Ford said that Dawson, a 6-foot-6 athletic small forward, specializes in defense and could make an NBA team because of that ability.
...

ESPN college basketball analyst Fran Fraschilla said it wasn't fair to compare Dawson to past MSU forwards who have entered in the NBA, especially Golden State's Draymond Green, who has flourished as a versatile offensive and defensive threat. "You can't really compare him to Draymond," Fraschilla said, "because I'm not sure if Branden made a three in his career at Michigan State."

(Dawson was 0-for-9 shooting three-pointers in his Spartans career.)

"Branden, unfortunately, is in that tweener mode as a player," Fraschilla said. "He's played like a 4 man, but he's built like a 3."

Fraschilla, however, did say that Dawson could land on an NBA roster.

"He's going to just have to fight for his life, figuratively, because he is athletic," Fraschilla said. "He's going to have to find a niche, maybe as a defensive stopper."

Clippers should try and pick up Christian Woods just for that length alone
