I would go and try to convince DJ to stay, but i'm not good at it. I tried to convince bobby simmons to stay with the clips after a bone thugs n harmony concert... haha

What is he trying to pair up with Aldridge on the Lakers? That's an odd one

sounds like dj really has mixed feelings. you kinda get the idea that he was pretty decided on dallas before tonight's meeting. now it's a lot tougher. we just have to hope for the best.

yeah i'm trying to figure out his decision tree here.

maybe dj wants to pair with aldridge on the lakers? or is there another team with a lot of space?

honestly i think he found true love with chandler parsons or something. really feels like dallas is the favorite, even if by a little.

he's not the guy I thought he was.

Wes Matthews Latest: ESPN sources say Matthews' camp has notified Kings he's unlikely to take their offer, making Dallas even more likely

bad news, imo. increases likelihood DJ will pick dallas. also i think dj's hedging has more to do with what wes matthews does than what LMA does.

personally i'm not sure what a DJ/parsons/post-achilles wes matthews core will do to bring a championship but if wes was DJ's breaking point then so be it.

Wes Matthews has agreed in principle with the Mavericks on a four-year deal, per source. Turned down huge offer from Sacramento.

not good

doesn't sound good, that's for sure.

i think if dj goes we have to pray to heaven and earth we get biyombo. perhaps doc can convince him that he can do for him what he did for DJ, and after a 1 year min deal with us, biyombo can see if he can strike it rich in the cap jump year.

i believe biyombo's rated as a better defender anyway so things might work out for us. we stay competitive and then go into 2016 with about 40M~ in cap space.

again, losing DJ is not the end of the world.

The more I keep stressing about this, the more I actually think this is a blessing in disguise if DJ leaves (of course I'll be singing a completely different tune if he stays, however). DJ was a decently serviceable center under VDN, but it was Doc that made him into the rebounding defensive monster that he is today. Biyombo is our best option at this point because he has already shown signs of good defensive ability. Just like you said, we sign him to the minimum and Doc molds him into a DJ type player and he gets a chance to get a fat contract after the cap increase. He's much younger so there won't be as much butting heads with CP3 either.

Would we really be able to get Biyombo for the min? I highly doubt that sadly.

Anything important or indicative in those tweets? Twitter doesn't work on the app and I'm in a country that blocks it altogether. Much appreciated.

If DJ chooses Dallas then I hope he at least gives us a TPE so we can trade some guys into it. Not doing so would really screw us over, then I would be mad.

Eric Pincus echoed your thoughts in suggesting a sign-and-trade in order to secure a trade exception. Basically, DeAndre Jordan is split in deciding between the Clippers and Mavericks with the Lakers and Knicks also getting some consideration. Decision supposedly will come in a few days but possibly after LaMarcus Aldridge's own announcement. DJ has expressed concerns over the Clippers' roster not aging well along with worries about Blake Griffin being signed for only two more seasons. He's not sure he wants to commit long-term as he wants to grow more in his role and "expand his horizons". Clippers reportedly had a professionally tight presentation with Doc even covering the tension between DJ and CP3 where it's up to DJ whether he wants to figure out how to deal with that or if he wants to deal with it.

Note: I updated my previous post of tweets to include more pertaining to the aforementioned Clippers' presentation and Doc addressing the DJ-CP3 tension.

Hmm…
so there was teeth to the whole CP3 thing all along.

maybe him and Blake both don't like CP and that's why he's so worried about Blake after 2 years?
