We need a backup PG, right? Deron Williams?

Not only are there discipline and character issues with Javale McGee, but also health concerns. He's only played in 28 games for the past 3 seasons including just 6 in 2014-15. Yeah, he looked like a tempting lottery ticket under Doc to replace DJ, but with him back, there is no need to take the risk on McGee. Plus, I'm sure he'd rather compete with Zaza Pachulia instead of DeAndre Jordan and maybe even Cole Aldrich for playing time.

Pierce and Williams don't get along. The Truth called out D-Will's lack of toughness and leadership in not getting the most out of his abilities while the two played together in Brooklyn. Williams apparently also prefers to play for his hometown Dallas Mavericks instead of the bright lights (and media scrutiny) in Los Angeles.

I don't think you realize the Deron Williams thing was a joke. And you were looking at JaVale's stats wrong. He played 23 games last year. 17 with the Nuggets, 6 with the 76ers. Only played 6 because he wanted to be waived to pursue a deal with a contender that never came. He played 5 games in '13-'14. So its 27 games in only the past two seasons, not 3.
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

I figured the Deron Williams comment was a joke, but posted the discord with Pierce just to be sure and for those who may not be aware. With regards to McGee's games played the past couple of seasons, you're right. I actually thought the totals looked funny based on the reports I've been hearing...and I still missed it. Thanks for the clarification.
In any case, the injury issue--or rather his recovery from it--still stands. It takes time to get back into playing shape. Could the Clippers' situation afford him that time? Yeah, I guess it could, but it also says something that he was unable to find a deal despite the fact that he was bought out for the full value of his 2015-16 salary and the market for athletic centers. Maybe his asking price was too high, but he still has injury concerns.
It's not a coincidence that the market for McGee has basically been the team who lost out on DeAndre Jordan with maybe some cursory interest from other teams. Chris Copeland seems to be generating more legitimate interest from other teams than McGee.

Would be hilarious to see D.Will backup Paul though.

Dallas Signs Dalembert; What about McGee?
It's interesting to see that the Mavericks just signed Samuel Dalembert. I wonder what happened with the Javale McGee talks. I guess they could still be exploring that possibility, but I figure McGee's health, asking price along with his questionable character probably has him as an unattractive option even for a desperate team like Dallas. Plus, I believe there are still talks with Kevin Seraphin and Elton Brand.
In hindsight, it's scary to think that McGee was our best hope of replacing DJ had he followed through on his commitment to the Mavs.

I remember quite awhile ago I drafted both of them on one of my Yahoo Fantasy teams. This is during Deron's "peak" years in Utah. The league was H2H format. Let's just say I usually won the assists category by almost double every week...
But I have to say that I'm a little curious how Javale will turn out. One of the latest Realgm's articles was saying that he was still(?) focusing on getting healthy. I mean how much time does he need off to recover? To me that seems like a red flag. I really want to see if him not being signed for so long was a character/locker room thing, or is it a health thing (he does have a steel rod in his leg I think).
