Probably because he's not a homegrown player like Blake and DJ are.

I guess there's something endearing about that.

There's also something endearing about a player who chose the lowly Clippers and made it his mission to deliver winning basketball to Clipper fans. He could have blocked a trade here or told Oshey that he wouldn't agree to opt into his the last year of his deal. He could have signed elsewhere in 2013 and instead, re-upped with us real early in FA and didn't leave us worrying about whether he'd team up with Dwight.

He's like Cat Mobley to me in that regard, except he's the best player to ever put on a jersey for us.

eh, it's not like the clippers were lowly in his short time up with them. plus when the trade was announced it was pretty clear the talent level was far beyond whatever he had in NOLA.

i.e. there's a big difference between having played a full season with championship aspirations and having blind faith and signing with an upstart team you haven't played one game with.

Chris Paul was my favorite player long before he was gifted to the Clippers; having my favorite player on my favorite team is a dream-come-true.

That said, CP3 doesn't have a dedicated base of fanatics (like most superstars) because he's never won anything.

Hopefully he grabs a couple of rings before he retires so he doesn't end-up with a "yea...but" legacy.

"Yea, CP3 was amazing....but..."

Winning a ring for the Clippers would legitimately put him in the conversation for 'best PG of all-time'.

Can we start the season already?
I root for players always, organizations sometimes.

I don't know how I'm ever going to forgive the Clippers' new front office.

The Clippers were not a good team before Chris Paul got here.
