Would it be going too far to ask Golden State to let him out of his contract half a month early with monetary compensation? I know we don't have a draft pick and we're basically a week away from the proceedings, but I'd love to get this started as soon as possible. At least we have him for next year's deeper and more talented draft class.

Any kind of compensation could be taken as a compensation trade. If this were to happen, Clippers would be barred from trading with the Warriors for a full season.

Does Jerry West want a Warrior to become a Clipper?

I'm not sure if that's true but it does pose an interesting question. Obviously, we should wait the 16 days instead of further handcuffing ourselves even more.

Damn, A new arena and J West in one day?

One thing you can say about the Clippers is that they are making a real effort to legitimize the franchise.

Congrats Clippers' fans. Jerry West is an institution and his hiring started the transformation of the Warriors. When I heard he might be leaving us I was hoping it would be out of the division but he has roots in LA. Now you have someone in the front office who can go toe to toe with Magic for that other LA team when you try to lure potential free agents.

Wow this is great news. We need a strong presence in the front office and we need to legitimize our franchise. I honestly wasn't sure if Jerry West would join us, hopefully Doc won't be too hurt by the news

Like Neddy was saying earlier, it is quite incorrect for anyone to be saying things like "we're still the same as before". What a nice day, getting someone who knows what he's doing in the front office and getting a new arena. Ballmer is obviously committed to creating a great franchise and that is what matters.
