Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News) is and has been consistent over the years saying it usually takes half a season for a rookie DE to get their legs under them and learn the pro game. It's the main reason I'm withholding judgement for now. You can look at Demarcus Lawrence as the prototypical example that Goose refers to. The first half of 2014... he had a bag of nothing. Made progress as the season went on then had a breakout playoff run against Detroit and Green Bay. The suspension hurt him last year... but he seems to be making a case to get a nice paycheck after this season.

Check back around Week 12.

Let's see what we have in him WHEN he SHOWS UP.

Didn't hear much from Taco this season. I hope its just because he is so young. We still need D-line help. Pass rush needs to be a lot better.

Now that the season is over, I can honestly say I was not impressed with Taco Charlton.

I think he had some brief glimpses of hope when he had the opportunity to play. I think with another training camp and maybe getting some more first team reps, he'll be better.

I'm holding out hope that with a year under his belt, a full offseason to train and understand expectations and build on, he takes that next step. Last thing I want to see is another bust at defensive end.

Lord knows we've had our share of them.

I sure hope we here his name a lot more this year. And I mean in a good way.

Motivation been an issue with this guy. Some beat writers had him traded before season start.

Rare epic bust for Dallas.

Taco was so bad he made Mo Claiborne look like a good pick.

Pretty shocking that he's still able to make an nfl roster.

Likely just a camp body. The chances of him actually making the roster have to be low at this point.

When you consider where Mo Claiborne was drafted (top 10) and the fact that they traded up to get him, I still say that he was the biggest draft bust in Cowboys history. Also Taco was really bad but I’d say Barbie Crapenter was also a bigger draft bust.

Claiborne lasted in the NFL for a long time though.
