In the LA TImes report I read today it said that this deal has online components and things for iPad,iPod, and iPhones there maybe and app you can buy where you can watch the games live and then maybe stream them on to your tv.

I literally JUST got rid of the cable box for basic cable last month because i never use the damn thing.

Also TW owning the dodgers isn't gonna get more laker fans to fork over for the network. the overlap between basketball fans and baseball fans is extremely tiny

Smart move by Buss to get this deal done before Kobe retires.

Is anyone else hugely dissapointed so far with the details of the new networks? I don't know if you've heard but it will be called: Time warner cable sportsnet and not something say, idk creative? Sportsnet? Is this 2001? The great minds over at Comcast also have a sports channel they've called, comcast sportsnet.

They've hired :
Andy Adler - "studio host"
Heidi Watney - sideline reporter
Adrian Garcia Marquez and Francisco Pinto - Spanish tv play-by-play

channel launches oct. 1

WIth the Lakers having their own channel I hope they give shows to many of their old players.

Kareem's corner
West's side stories
...
even old bench players

2 classic games a day

broadcast practices

Film Mitch scouting and what he looks for (broadcast AFTER the draft).

I don't have timewarner so I'm a little nervous about having to pay more or make a switch but o well.

They have 24 hours of programming to fill up.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

they went ahead and signed the sparks (wnba) and galaxy (soccer) & they're in the running for the dodgers to fill in some up that time.

I am a fan of Heidi Watney's looks.

I can see them playing a lot of 'Laker classics' games to fill the time.

Has anyone heard about this? I wonder what will happen if you don't have Time Warner cable? They couldn't possibly be stupid enough not to show the games if you don't, could they?

This was known last year. I cancelled my league pass renewal because of it.

I live in NC and I've got TWC. I guess it just depends on where you live at in the south as to whether you get TWC or Comcast. When I used to live in Florida the only alternative to a dish provider was Comcast, which I'm assuming you currently have.

Cox Cable is the only one in my area for cable. NW Florida...owell. League Pass it is.
