Barbosa is an odd piece in Toronto, so I could kind of see that. Bayless... meh... he's passable. It's not a bad deal for either team, but it doesn't really help either one out tremendously either. Barbosa is definitely not a PG at all, in any way shape or form, temporary or otherwise. But he is almost as fast as he was on Phoenix. He's pretty much a known commodity now, for better or worse.

Bayless is a total combo guard who can at least set up an offense, but he likes to race ahead of everyone with the ball with no one back except every player on the other team, and he isn't as dynamic as Barbosa in that sense. Bayless is injured right now too, though it's only a sprain.

Ebanks to Toronto... also okay, not great. The Raps do need a SF, but Kleiza is coming back soon I guess. I think that alone might stimey this deal.

As for Love for Pau, I just don't see it. I too thought I read somewhere that Minny totally rebuffed this exact deal some time earlier. Maybe a three team trade could make it happen... but I'll believe it when I see it too.

Barbosa/Ebanks seems most likely to me, of any. The TPE is exactly what Colangelo is trying to stockpile this year. Capspace is his big thing right now.

Nope, that was PhdGriz who delivered the inside scoop about Gasol.
If I recall correctly, what you tried to predict was LO/Bynum for Bender/JO, which didn't come to fruition.

I dont know how Barbosa for Ebanks works because Barbosa makes 7m a yr and Ebanks makes 800,000. The TPE seems like the only way to get Barbosa.

This is believable. considering Colangelo was really high on Devin Ebanks.

Would Love to have Love, I don't like Barboso's game at all if its the.same guy that use to play for Phoenix. He just goes fast & that's it. Once he can't go fast he sucks

Funny how OP's credibility has been called under question and he's been M.I.A. since.

Im a Raps fan, we'd drool at the thought of unloading Bayless on you. I still personally think Calderon would be an amazing fit for the lakers.

I hadn't considered Calderon this year, but really if you think about it the Lakers have been hiding both Blake and Fisher this entire year on defense. Can he guard 2s?

He cant guard 2's but you could hide him the same way as Blake or Fisher. He's just a much better playmaker then either one of those guys, awesome pick and roll pg and very efficient, great free throw shooter as well

Have to believe the Lakers are looking very strongly at the Kevin Love situation. If they really do pull of a Gasol-Love deal, they've not only helped themselves this year, there's a good chance they're a perimeter player away from doing something huge in 2014. Mitch is about to strike.

laduane1 wrote:Mpney alone would kill this trade. 18.7 for Pau. How many bad contracts do the Lakers need. Even with the TPE from the Odom trade. Lakers are still way over the tax number. K Love would be a perfect player here. But just do not see it in the cards.

Don't forget Gasol's 15% trade kicker that would take him to the max for a 10 year veteran.

I'm an Raps fan and I HATE the idea of trading away Bayless without giving him an chance to grow.

Lakers can have Jose or Bosa if they want but really what they see in Bayless I have no clue.

Bay is an player that is just beginning to learn to run an team and the GM spoke highly of him so this trade idea comes out of left field and makes no sense at all.

Hopefully BC does not trade Bayless without giving him an chance to develop and grow with the team.

Peace

You're by far the biggest bayless fanboy on realgm(probably the internet). If bc traded bayless for john wall, you would still say it wouldn't make any sense.
