Really? I am so tired of all these hyped up kids. The kids that will go big in the NBA are the kids no one is talking about right now.
Don't believe the hype is all I am saying. I've been burned to many times. Here's looking at YOU Rivers!

What? You think Kidd-Gilchrist is a big time NBA player? LoL
You seriously misunderstood what I'm saying.

I think Wiggins is all hype hence my comparison to
Michael Kidd Gilchrist who is a mediocre NBA player but was a certified high school/college phenom.
The hype on MKG was ridiculous.

MKG has barely had a season to show up what he's capable of and he's like 19. He will be a future all star for sure.

no his point was that players that usually succeed in the nba are the ones that are not talked about. i disagree though and i think MKG will be a top 5 player from this draft when its all said and done. maybe not warranting the 2nd pick, but he still will be good. i quite like his game, if he ever develops a shot of any kind he could be an all star. his defense and motor will always be there.

and the MKG hype was not ridiculous, the kentucky hype was, and mostly becuase of davis (who is absolutely legit) but everyone knew that MKG had his limitations. i cant think of anyone who thought he would be anything more than a high energy defensive player this early in his career. i dont really think he was overrated or over hyped at all, maybe drafted a tad high though.

also i dont know much about wiggins but i do know its entirely too early to judge him. i thought drummond was gonna be a bust and still have my doubts but so far hes proving a lot of people wrong.

Not sure about that one from what I've seen thus far.
He has the right tools but in a league dominated with small forwards not sure if he'll rise to the task.

Wiggins is probably gonna have the same situation as MkG.
Playing 1 year of outstanding college ball then hitting the pros.

Both players are 6-7/6-8 with an array of moves. Mid range , handles , and athleticism is decent.

How many small forwards can you name currently that can do it all like these two?
That's a lot of talent to measure up to.

@doormatt
I already knew that about most players who got drafted being unknown usually makes the most noise.
(Damian Lillard)

I still think Hoopdreams misunderstood.
I think MKG is mediocre at this point , maybe some of that due to him playing on the bobcats .
But from observing his game not sure he has what it takes to go above and beyond in this league.
His jumper is not NbA ready by any means .
It could all change in the offseason but from what I've seen thus far not there yet.

I think Harrison Barnes is showing a more complete NbA game at small forward.

Wiggins is 18 years old with the potential to grow another inch or two, his wingspan is 7 feet, and his game is unlike anything seen in a years. Please don't put him in a bracket next to Kidd Gilchrist who is a high motor defensive specialist and then say he's going to have a lot of talent to measure up to.

Name another SF that is currently in the NBA sans Durant whose game was as fluid and refined as his at the same age.

I mean I'm not trying to be uber pessimistic on these two ballers' future but in a league stacked with elite small forwards not sure if these two will be able to live up to the hype .
I know anything is possible and extreme growth in the NBA happens all time.
From all the footage I've seen I'm no quite ready to hand the keys to any franchise to any of these guys yet.

Put Kidd Gilchrist on the warriors where his slashing ability can be properly used and his offensive rebounding will be more noticed and people would start comparing him to Scottie Pippen. Its hard to look good playing next to Kemba Walker and the guys from Friday the 13th.

Hahaha Destro I'm gonna put him in any damn bracket I want bruh! LoL :naaa:
Nah seriously I know kid got game but I'm just not ready to hand him the steering wheel to a franchise quite yet.

Its just my opinion in the meanwhile .
As I play and watch basketball 24/7, I highly evaluate each player just like y'all.

As for Wiggins being such a fluid player let me remind you he's playing high school ball in Canada.
Next year he'll probably go to Kentucky or Florida (where his parents played) and kill.
Until then it's a long road to stardom in the NBA.

Not to many small forwards like the Carmelo's, Durant's , and Lebron's who kill right off the bat their rookie years.

Not sure about that either.
His built is too scrawny as of right now.
Same thing for Wiggins but pretty sure they'll both put on some size in the near future.

Harrison has a NBA ready built right now and doesn't get tossed around like a rag doll.

Accidentally posted this in the community thread. Not sure if this was thread I meant to post it in. But I don't think its thread worthy. Anyways random thought. Was arguing with a co-worker the other day about young Kobe's stats if he didn't have Shaq on the team (another LeBron vs Kobe argument lol). What do you think young Kobe 00-04 would have averaged if he didn't have Shaq.

I said I could have easily seen Kobe putting up similar if not better numbers than Tracy McGrady and Iverson during the time (32 ppg, 6 assists, 2 steals,1 block, 6 rebounds).

Your thoughts.

Kevin Durant in the zone against the Clippers. Heat vs Thunder might be what we see these next few years. Its gonna be NBA peak level basketball.

Ibaka should be ejected. That's a crazy blown call.
