If ATL won't bite on Pau,how about a 3-way deal with other teams

Houston had interest for Gasol, a few picks,Terrence Jones/Motiejunas/Patterson/Marcus Morris(a combination of these players, not all) sent to ATL?

Or Utah?Would they be willing to let Millsap go for Pau?(sending Millsap to ATL)

You'd want someone of value that can play next to Horford. Is Jefferson that guy? It's an expiring for an expiring. They get to test out Jefferson next to Horford. One guy is the post option, the other the mid-range/shot blocker. Both are expirings so it's real about trying out fit.

I'm not sure Houston does it based on the age of their young core but it's possible.

I think Houston would be absolutely interested in Gasol

The question is,does ATL want Houston's young pieces? Morris/Patterson/Aldrich/Motiejunas/White+ picks would be all available if Pau is set to come...some of this dudes don't even play now,let alone if Pau comes

Of course,Houston won't give up all of them but a package of at least 3 + some picks can be sent
Checked the ATL board and some guy was talking about the same thing

Enough with this here,I say we move the discussions to the Trade and Ideas thread,we're off topic here

Here's my question with Atlanta. They've moved Josh Smith to SF, he's shooting under 40% and he isn't showing that he really wants to stay all that badly. You know he's going to ask for some serious cash. Why would Atlanta pay it? How do they not trade Josh Smith is my question. They're going to shop him as best they can.

Gasol's value is more than enough for Smith, don't let REALGM's absolutely over the top Laker hate tell you otherwise. Atlanta's problem with Gasol is his age. He's not a player to rebuild around.

I think if Atlanta is smart they take two rebuilding players, a SG and a SF specifically along with a current player for Smith and calls it a day. Honestly if L.A. was in the same situation I would do it no question.

We need to find a way to draft Carter Williams in the 2013 draft. He will be excellent at any position, 1-3 in MDA's system.

Well I like his size being 6'6". He is a pass first guard also. He isn't much of a scorer yet so I think he needs another year of college after this one. By his junior year Michael Carter-Williams will be ready.

Houston needs a backup PG that can play the Derek Fisher role.

I heard Derek Fisher is available.

In all seriousness, Houston really doesn't have a lot of salary to match us for Pau if that's what guys are still thinking, but I think someone like Cook might be expendable on their roster and could be attractive to us, especially with his shorter contract.

Blake for Cook makes sense for us, but not for them, I'd guess...

It all depends on if Meeks can play the backup SG role effectively or not.

No Duhon for an exception is what I'm thinking. I proposed another deal with the Wizards which was Blake/Duhon/Meeks for Ariza/Webster. They save some money next year and open up time for Vessely on the wing and Singleton as well. The Lakers put those two alongside Nash in a speed unit and see what they can do.

I'd actually prefer Blake gone before Duhon but he has the worse contract to move.

I feel bad for Philly!
It makes us look like douche bags for the trade.
In all honesty Bynum is the one that isn't committed and for that I am glad the we got rid of him. Even if for some reason Howard leaves the trade was successful for us.

If Bynum was committed, he would so good.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;
