Stupid this is 1 on 1 Kobe would kill him. He can shoot over him at will or drive to the hoop unchallenge. Kyrie is too short and has no help defense it would be easy. Plus, no screeners to help him. He would have to try harder and would lose a rebounding battle easily.

Forget Dwight Howard, Kyrie Irving would look great in purple and gold.

but more importantly miles do you think the Cavs take on Bynum for Irving? They surely wouldn't want Pau

Kobe would win, no question. It may even be close but still no cigar for Kyrie.

You want to bet on it? Easy money.

Sure. What do YOU want to bet on?

it'll be a good match up but I'll probably go with Kobe. especially if it'll be a physical game. Kobe's got the height, strength, and experience.

I'd put something small on Kobe if I can join the pot. Say $10k?

A.I vs Jordan 2.0? LoL

1's and 2's?
Winner or Losers inbounds?

Anyways I still got Kobe winning over Kyrie 60 to 40.
This isn't a full court set where Kyrie could run the length of the floor taking advantage of everyone with his speed and ball handling.
This is a half court set where a fully tuned in Kobe will be hounding him.

Kyrie ain't no slouch from the perimeter either and his finishing skills are superb but with a fully engaged Kobe on the defensive end it wouldn't really matter.

I'm a big fan of Kyrie but let's get real Kobe will pound him to death in the post.
An if it's winners out forget about that 60/40. It'll be over faster than expected.

P.S
Can't hate on Kyrie though, he's chasing greatness.
An to be great you can't be scurred on challenging the great ones.

It just might be smarter to challenge someone in his own position first?
Im Not even sure if he could beat Westbrook or Deron Will at this point? LoL

If Kobe wins the break, there's a good chance Kyrie won't even get the ball on offense.

If it's Philly rules Kobe spanks that. If it's not then Kobe still wins, just not by as wide of a margin.

If I were the Cavs I'd think really hard about it. Consensus is that Bynum is 2nd best center in the league; some think his ceiling is higher, some even think he's better. But either way, aside from D-Ho and Drew, there's really nobody else...look at the deals Asik and Brook Lopez got, teams are desperate for a young, quality big.

If you were rebuilding, which the Cavs are, you may want to build around Bynum instead of Irving, simply because of rarity, competitive advantage at the position, and perhaps a bigger impact offensively and defensively. Opponents would have to create an entire defensive plan against Bynum, and would have to deal with him when he's protecting the basket. I have no question in my mind Bynum will be better away from the Lakers, both mentally and basketball-wise as the featured franchise player. More touches, more engaged, more responsibility, more maturity.

But the Lakers have the luxury having Pau Gasol, one of the top 5 centers in his own right.

So I wouldn't hesitate to move Bynum for Irving, who is a pure baller. His DNA is pure blood killer, and that video shows right there how his confidence is unshakeable, and his play against the senior team in their practices shows he can back it up.

His skills are elite already. But he has heart, will, passion, and fearlessness. To me, he's not a replacement for Nash, but a replacement for Kobe. He's a worthy kid.

They'll play in a year (they won't ever do it, but that's the plan) so add one more year of age for Kobe and one more year of experience for Kyrie

Interesting thought, I find myself wondering who that player will be after Kobe. Irving non-basketball related skills attract me just as much as his game, the kid has what you mentioned in great wealth (heart, will, passion, fearlessness). Would be awesome to bring that kid here, I know you never trade big for small but I'd be willing to for Irving and some pieces and I do think it would benefit both teams greatly, problem is after Pau we're stuck with no big man inside but I guess we can worry about that down the road. :dontknow:

Kobe has it in the bag this year... waiting a year is a mistake. Kyrie improves Kobe gets close to age 35.
