I'd be furious if I was a 76ers fan.

I'm guessing the same thing that happened to us, with Bynum's Ortho Specialist not communicating freely with the team docs, is happening to them...
His doc always used to take the "let's wait and see what happens" approach to injuries that usually ended up requiring surgery, before he did anything. It always seemed like we'd wait for ever for him to recover from something 'minor' only to be blindsided by a surgery that eventually came seemingly out of nowhere.

It sucks though... I'd love to see the Sixers battling the Heat for the top spot in the east... DrJ was my favorite non Laker and I used to root for the Sixers in the East... It would be cool if that rivalry could be rekindled.

I think that's the stereotype for Philly sports fans.

Saying that, he was at best the 5th most important player on either title team.

6th

Kobe and Pau have no argument about being 1st and 2nd. Lamar was clearly the third most important guy in those 3 finals and b2b titles, the true member of the big 3.

Fisher was 4, not Bynum. It was fisher who guarded Iverson, Parker, and Deron all in one finals run with a torn tendon in his foot. It was fisher who hit the shots in Orlando. It was Fisher who rallied the troops and took a game in Boston. It was Fisher who guarded Ray Allen in 2010 and basically took him out the series after that one ridiculous Jesus like shooting game. And it was Fisher who in 2010 was the only Laker not named Kobe Bryant whose road numbers increased in every round away from staples while Bynums dipped, Ron's dipped in all but the pix series, and Paus dipped in every series but Utah away from Staples.

Ariza and Artest can be tied for fifth. We don't win without Ariza hot shooting and those steals. We damn sure don't get past OKC with Kobe limping the first 4 games if Ron didn't have lockdown papers on Durant. We don't win without Ron's putback, his close out game in PHX when Pau and Andrew were both ghost, and without his game 7.

Andrew was the 6th guy on those title team nothing more and nothing less. He contributed less than the five above to the win and loss record during the season because he was either injured or hobbled. He contributed less in the playoff runs as he missed 08 all together. Got taken out the starting lineup for Odom and benched in the Utah series in 09 in favor of Walton because he wouldn't put effort into defense on their bigs, got destroyed by Yao till he went down, and Pau manned the most minutes of anyone on the team versus Dwight. In 10 he had one dominant game versus Boston but it was a loss and he didn't really provide even what Luc Longley did for those Bulls teams of Phil as he faced 0 good centers in that whole run, unlike Longley, was a mediocre rebounder and basically 7 and 6 guy who never closed any important game because his defense wasn't good enough to be counted on when every marble was on the line

Bynum was lazy and acted like a spoiled brat all the time, but he's not an **** so I don't get why peepz would want to see him injured.

and I agree with those saying he was the 5th best on our titles runs. in 2009 probably 6th best player at best...

2012 he was our second best player, tho.

Bynum played through immense pain in the 10 playoffs. The guy was getting his knee shot up every other day just so he could play. I really thank Bynum for hanging in there and giving us those pivotal minutes in the 10 finals, or the lakers would had gotten beat by the Celtics.

I agree with that about bynum fighting through the pain to make it thru the chamionship. But that's phil. He instilled that sense within the gguys to play hard for one another.

Bynum out til at least mid december/start of january

http://sulia.com/source/245111/?source= ... cfcb3ef25c

Andrew received a fresh MRI and was seen again by Dr. Altchek this past week on Monday, November 5.

At that evaluation, Dr. Altcheck extended Andrew's return date for a second time by an additional three weeks. However, in what the Sixers believe is an optimistic sign, Dr. Altchek also indicated that Andrew could immediately resume low impact exercise. Low impact exercise for a period of two weeks is to be followed by three weeks of conditioning on an anti-gravity treadmill. The doctors and the team will be closely watching how Bynum's knee responds during this five week regimen. Upon successful completion, Bynum is expected to be able to resume normal basketball activity.

If the current prognosis holds unchanged, Bynum would be cleared to resume normal basketball activity by approximately December 10. In addition, the team estimates that Bynum in turn will need an additional 1-4 weeks thereafter for conditioning, training and practice before being able to resume game play with significant minutes.

I'd say all star weekend. He will play well for half the season to secure that contract.

Should I feel bad for being angry at this purely b/c no one is seeing how bad he'll be as a #1 option, fed the ball over and over?

I probably should, but I don't. People need to understand what the Lakers were dealing with the past few years.

It's alright. Those days are behind us. Bynum is now just another part of Laker lore. We have found the true successor to Shaq and his name is Dwight Howard.

Disclaimer: Shaq >>>>> Dwight, but Dwight is more a franchise center than Bynum was.

Hopefully they exercise some caution and just ease him back in a closeout game. You know, since they're easy.
