Are you guys saying you'd do Hump, teletovic, and brooks for Gasol? I think that's a rare case of a fanbase understating their own talent. Gasol might just be a little lost as opposed to done.

You probably got to trade him be b/c he's going to waste but that's be a bad deal for you. Hump is a bad defender, has no O, and inflated rebound numbers. Brooks is a little lost right now but has shown flashes, it's gonna take a Pop type coach to reign him in. And Teletovic looks like a rashard Lewis 2010 clone

Gasol for Thad Young+Hawes is a really nice trade.

PG- Nash, Morris
SG- Bryant, Meeks
SF- MWP, Young
PF- Jamison, Hill
C- Howard, Hawes

Both units have a down low guy, a floor spacing big man, decent foot speed to defend the P and R, and now two stoppers.

Just guessing here, I really think MDA would suggest to LAL FO to get Jeremy Lin.

For Rockets, Morey has long wanted Gasol. Rockets are making Harden their PG anyway, and Lin is not a good fit in their Harden dominated offense (hardly touches the ball). It's clear they're making Harden their franchise player and wanting to groom Parsons as well, and Lin could support the move too as it is for the best for him.

For Lakers, Lin gives them some legitimacy at PG, he's better than Darius Morris, he can push the pace the way MDA wants it, doesn't dominate the ball, has good size, can rebound, can defend. He can defer to/ feed Harden in Houston and he can certainly feed/ defer to Kobe (just give up the ball to him and move out of way). And when Lin has the ball, their offense can alternate to pick and roll with Dwight... last time Lin had the ball in pick and roll in NY, he made Chandler a dunking machine. Even Jared Jeffries was hitting layups. With Dwight, the result would be immediate. And when Nash comes back, Lin can go to bench giving their bench more legitimacy while learning NBA game slowly from a former MVP PG instead of being thrust as a starter with big contract with only 35 games start under his belt. This way, Lakers will groom Lin, Nash is old, when he inevitably shows his age either slowing down or perhaps more injuries (old normally iron men Hall of Famers playing for Lakers getting injured isn't news, Karl Malone was iron man in Utah, and was injured prone in his only season in LA), Lin can take over.

I guess if it's not Kupchak giving Morey the first call, it's vice versa.

We should deal him for athletic (but smart) PF n an useful filler.

So is Pau. At least Bargs can shoot. We'll have no problem with the rebound. We have Dwight. He's doing it for the longest time in Orlando.

Lakers trade: Pau/Blake/Duhon/Clark
Toronto trade: Bargnani/Calderon/Ross/Kleiza

Why for Lakers:
They get a stretch 4 in Bargs. Great back up PG in Calderon. Prospect in Ross. And another shooter in Kleiza.

Why for Toronto:
They upgrade PF position. Can develop Clark. Save a bit money in Kleiza-Blake swap. Can buy out Duhon next season.

PG: Nash/Calderon/D-Mo
SG: Kobe/Ross/Meeks
SF: Metta/Kleiza
PF: Bargs/Jamison
C: Howard/Hill

Tired of seeing "We should get player X because he fits PERFECTLY in D'Antoni's system."

We should trade for the best talent/value/cost savings available...

The supposed beauty of D'Antoni's system is that there isn't much of one, and that anybody can do it. It's running, pick and rolls, and hitting wide open jumpers...

And I think we're all hoping D'Antoni develops his system a little more to incorporate different/better talent, because he hasn't hit any home runs so far.

I'm not sure i wanna get rid of MWP, he's our best perimeter defender by FAR, plus his offense has been great lately. Happy that he took it upon his self to get in shape this summer.

Ah, I haven't seen that about Atrest. I just kept reading all the LAL fans saying he was trash now and wanted him gone. Another junk contract could be used, but of course it depends on how strong Amare returns too.

Hill for Derrick Williams. Both players could use more playing time. Williams can really stretch the 4 and is very similar to a young Jamison.

He's not worth a top pick right now. Hill is a great fit next to Love-Pekovic. Williams is a DNP if I'm not mistaken.

I just posted this on the trade board. Mine is something like Hill/Clark for Williams.

Meeks for Jordan Crawford is something the Wizards would do. Mitch has had interest in Crawford in the past and I like his fit next to off ball PGs like Duhon-Blake-Morris.

Pau for Evans/Salmons/Garcia?

Tyreke Evans could learn from Kobe, and would be a great 6th man off the bench.I think he would thrive in Dantoni's up-tempo system.I threw Salmons/Garcia in the trade to make salaries match.

I'd take Garcia and Reke but no to Salmons, we also would need a big in return. Too bad Thompson is on a horrible contract.

Gasol for Ryan Anderson plus filler works for me. Anderson is young and he fits far better than Josh Smith ever would. Not to mention Anderson's not all that shabby of a post defender. You know that front court works well and it fits perfectly with the Laker backup rotation. Hill plays with Anderson, Jamison plays with Howard and next year salary goes down tremendously.

I realize it goes in 2014 but if you 2014 is the year you're supposed to rebuild the team you could do a lot worse than Anderson at the 4. Grab Gay for the max fill in the other two spots.

o.0 Uh, No. Jamison in his GS days would destroy - no, ANNIHILATE - that scrub (in comparison of course).

Even if their games were similar, which they're not, Antawn was was an All-star caliber player while at the same time Williams is a project who borderlines on bust. I'm not feeling it. And another thing, I'm not feeling Williams named acknowledged within the same sentence either. So that won't happen on my part. But you, you that back. And respect the Tawn.

i would love to have evans here too for the reasons you just said. we can make him our little version of james harden and then when kobe retires he can be our main swingman. if we can flip either salmons/garcica or both for a solid big guy to replace gasol that would be the ideal trade. the problem is i dont think the kings would have a use for gasol right now. they're in rebuild mode and they're trying to develop cousins. when youre in rebuild mode you go for a young big with an allstar potential (cousins) and then you find a young swingman or pg (evans) with allstar potential to pair with your big man. gasol is an aging allstar with a big contract that can hinder cousin's growth. only way to do this is by three team trade maybe?
