Some of you guys are ridiculous. Not a Knick or Laker fan (see my avy). Just curious what Lakers fans thought (must have been my imagination that you guys have been wanting to rid yourselves of Pau for the past two years). Oh well. My bad.

We have been disappointed by Pau over the last few years, You are right about that, But we never wanted him traded for garbage, Which is exactly what Amare is now, No one in their right mind can say Amare is better or even as good as Pau is these days.

We won't be resigning one of Paul Millsap or Jefferson... doing this deal ensures us that we get something for them. Which would you rather have in the deal? Jefferson or Millsap?

So are you guys saying that you would do this deal and that you think it is great for you? Explain why you like it, and also exactly how would you structure the deal?

I bet even the guys that really want to get "rid of pau" want to dump him for picks, our young players or even expiring deals. Only a crazy Lakers fan would want to complete destroy our plans for 2014 by trading Pau for Amar'e, and IMHO Pau still much more productive than Amar'e, especially because Stat is made of glass.

I wouldn't do Gasol for Amar'e either at this point but it is mainly due to cap issues etc.---in pure player terms there isn't much of a gap between the two IMO and in fact I like Amare's offensive game more , especially versus strong defensive teams.
Against those teams Gasol essentially turns into a 12points passive-soft-as-tissue-type of easily intimidated player while Stat has a knack for destroying the best defenses and the best defender.

Yeah, they were willing to trade Pau for Dwight Howard or Chris Paul. Not for Amare.

You'd be hard pressed to find one Laker fan wanting that trade.

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?

I've thought about this, as this trade has been talked about in the Raptors board since the acquisition of D'antoni. Now, Bargnani can undoubtedly provide floor spacing, I'm just apprehensive about his abysmal defense and rebounding. I think it will very difficult to hide him on the defensive end, even with Dwight. He also has a notorious lack of motivation and work ethic.

It's tough, but I'd say no.

I'll give Pau a chance in this system.
