Anybody else digging the dwight howard for brook lopez / Marshon Brooks deal that has been floating around in the media? I think Lopez would do great with Nash and Marshon Brooks is a solid young talent.

Nope! You don't trade one of the League's best players for a Marshon Brooks and a Brooke freaking Lopez. Not if you want any chance to compete with the OKC's and Miami's of the world. You need top tier talent and when Dwight is healthy there's no question he's a top tier talent.

alright this seems crazy but: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine/?tradeId=aufff33

Lakers out, Sacramento in: Dwight Howard, Jordan Hill

Sacramento out, Lakers in: Demarcus Cousins, Jason Thompson, Marcus Thornton, Aaron Brooks

Dwight wants to be the man, he'll be that in Sac town. pretty enticing start as well for the city of Seattle. there had been reports on a disgruntled Cousins though issues dead now. but hey, why wouldn't the Kings want Dwight? Thornton and Brooks' playing time isn't fixed and both are pretty inconsistent this season. this will also open up playing time for Jimmer and James Johnson and Robinson. Kings will be thin at the 2 spot though. they'll also miss Jason's energy but Hill has the potential to match that or even do better.

Thomas, Evans, Howard as core ain't that bad.

why for LA? they get a center that competes, period. an energy PF that can be effective without the ball, a back up 2 that can create his own shot, and a back up PG who is a lot better than those they have now.

salaries are ok though they have a lot of players. also, one big negative is this messes up the 2014 and 2015 plans.

Nash/Brooks
Bryant/Thornton
MWP
Clark/Thompson
Cousins/Gasol

and scrubs.

Is there a decent MWP deal out there? Mitch has spoken extensively about improving the backup PG and wing three positions.

It doesn't look like we are going to trade Howard or Gasol at the deadline. I think Howard will resign as he can make more money here than anywhere else and will be the franchise player soon. Staying here gives him the best chance of winning a championship.

Gasol on the other hand doesn't work in D'Antoni's system and will probably be moved. He still is one of the best bigmen in the game and is attractive also as he has a big expiring contract. I hope that if we do move him we trade him to a team like Houston. Houston has a lot of cap room so they don't have to match salary which would save us money. They also have a lot of good young players which would interest us and could form a nice big three of Gasol,Harden, and Lin. I'd try and get Chandler Parsons from them plus another young player like Terrance Jones or Marcus Morris for Gasol.

By trading Gasol we would save money and be able to resign Earl Clark to a bigger contract. After trading Gasol we would have a much younger, deeper and athletic team which is what we'd be looking to get in any Gasol trade. Our roster would then look like this:

PG-Nash/Blake
SG-Bryant/Meeks
SF-Parsons/MWP
PF-Clark/Morris or Jones
C-Howard/Hill

Jordan Crawford is who I'm looking at. I could see Washington moving on from him.
