I don't care what Steve Blake can do offensively in D'Antoni's system. He's just gonna give up twice as many points as he gets up D'Antonis system. I trash Blake because his defense not his offense. We need Morris for defensive purposes.

The main thing about getting Blake back is not that he's so much better than Morris but it gives them some depth back.

Lakers looked good, just need to work on those defensive breakdowns that literally gave Houston 8 or 10 points. Otherwise I think their defense was mostly fine- not great but fine.

Blake is hot garbage set a blaze

Send Blake and Duhon for Ariza. Sign a backup PG to play behind Morris.

If only t'was that easy to trade those guys. Thou it's easy to sign another PG. Delonte is just waiting.

So is CDR. Underrated player that could bring something different off the bench.

Posts like these expose the people who know basketball and laymen who just watch.

Aside from getting reverse seals against an inside man on a 2-3 zone, there is very little point to swinging a ball around the perimeter without getting it inside first (dribble drive/PNR/post up) or tightly timed man movements/screens.

Meeks correctly recognized that we were just swinging the ball around the perimeter aimlessly burning seconds off of the clock for no reason. The times he has tried to drive, the primary post option was getting 1.5+ defenders, three-quartered, and on weak-side.

This speaks to poor offensive organization and exposed his poorer creating skills. But he had to create. Playing freestyle, he knew getting post position or a decent PNR set would take 5-8 seconds limiting the play to 5 seconds of desperation.

Meeks correctly deduces that he must try to collapse the defense.

So, you see, what you are noting is really the product of nonexistent coaching (stalling for D'Antoni) + poor point play due to suboptimal rotations (again, bad coaching + injuries). Staggering Kobe's minutes with Duhon's and Morris' with Meeks' would better address this issue. The primary issue is not an incompetent/unintelligent Meeks.

Now, carry on.

Jodie Meeks led the NBA in shooting percentage out of spot up looks in pick and roll sets last season (per Sports Illustrated and Syngery Sports)
