lakers wont even make the playoffs imo
however bradley isnt a rook, and will probably be first team all-def this year

LOL. Celtics are the 8th seed in the East. You're talking about a "huge" chance of making the finals? Are you on drugs?

we just won against the no.2 team in the east embarassing melo and making him look like a rookie.
dont you know that the C's usually start slow/horrific then after the all-star game they go on modern warfare mode on?
hey we made it to game to game 7 of the ECF last year, and if we had avery bradley patrolling on wade we would have won hands down.
i'm not acting like a pimp, eastern conference is surely easier than WC, so thats why i think we have better chances of getting to the finals, come on indiana chicago nyk are not scary at all, it will all go down to MIA vs BOS as usual, the rest of the EC is a pure joke.
wish you good luck guys
peace

Love out for Minnesota.

So if we finish ahead of one of Portland/Minnesota/Utah, we could pretty much grab a playoff spot, albeit the 8th seed. Looks like they are lowering the bar for us and we are still stuttering like a one legged man running the hurdles.

This is looking worse by the day, am having serious trouble finding inspiration from any facet of this team.

In historic comeback fashion, the Lakers will make the playoffs and beat the Heat in the Finals.

Playoff hopes dimming...can lakers come back?

Post#169 » by GeneralNash » Wed Jan 9, 2013 11:00 pm

Time to start thinking about this huge hole this team is in. 4 games under .500, 8th seed has five more wins and are 4 games over .500...the western conference is much stronger than the east...and Lakers play the spurs today and okc soon.

Not to mention dwight, Pau, and Hill are out for the toughest stretch of the season...

So when is the point of no return? When has the hope of even a playoff berth gone? Can this team get over the .500 hump?

How many games under .500 before you reach the point of no return. Has any team in history had this bad of a record early on and madethe playoffs? Has any team ever had this much talent and not make the playoffs?

To have finals hope you have to have a playoff berth, and even hope for that is dimming.

Very true. In my mind I just chalk it up as the lakers being in a rut....because it is very hard to look at this team on paper...and say this is a under .500 team.

I havent given up hope yet. But I'm trying to figure our what management is waiting for in regards to trading Pau. Unless they plan to bring Phil back in this summer if we're committed to Mike D. and his offensive scheme then were going to need to move Pau now for pieces that can fit his offense and help give us younger legs for the defensive end

At this point who knows to be honest. I don't think anyone feels safe with any predictions of what these players will do. Which makes me feel pretty low on what will happen.

I know it looks dire right now. But if they correct certain things, they can turn the string of losses to string of wins. You can get 31-18 by winning 2 of 3 games, which at full talent should at least be expected with this team.

If we make the playoffs it's just a 2 week extension of our season.

We're not going anywhere this year.

Pringles is fired.
Nash retires.
Pau is traded.
Dwight leaves for Houston or Atlanta
Kobe demands a trade.
Lakers go all in for 2014.
