No, he didn't. Its just a little sore so he's sitting out a game or three. He fractured his hand earlier in the year.

He re-fractured it

Wow, Pekovic, DWill, and Kirilenko for an all-time low value Pau

Assuming the reports are true that Minny values Pau, then yes. LA and NOH may have to add a few young pieces or eat Roy's contract. Pek is a free agent at seasons end (are they investing in him long term?) Assuming they pick up Kirilenko's player option, they have nearly $50M committed to 8 players excluding Pek next season. Pek can fetch anywhere from $10M - $12M in the open market. DWilliams is an afterthought seeing as his minutes continue to decrease. So in the end, the trade reads an expiring Pek plus Kirilenko for Gasol, a few extra young pieces (Ebanks & Henry) and LA absorbing Roy's contract. Does Minny value Gasol as much as its been said they do?

Ah, no. I understand you are trying to make it seem logical but its a biased trade in the Laker's favor. AK47 has more value as a player then Gasol. Williams is a player they likely do not care about but has some value around the league. Pekovic has tons of value (you see the stats he's putting up lately? Think 20/10), and the only reason they will consider trading him is because he will ask for a lot next season.

Sure, they may want Gasol but that is FAR too much. Minnesota fans at this point feel Pekovic alone is too much.

I've been saying it since we got Howard, Pau and Dwight do not work well together at all. It has nothing to do with Pau being "done", but everything to do with Pau no longer being a capable NBA power forward. When you're 7 feet tall and slow of foot due to age/injuries you are either a center or you're about to retire. For some reason we've been playing this charade that Pau will somehow turn it around and be a viable PF in D'antoni's system, even trying to get him to "expand his game" and sit at the three point line. We need to wake up, and trade him before he loses anymore value.

He has little to no value right now

We need to trade him because you can't justify benching a 19 mil player....I firmly believe we'd be a better team by starting Hill(albeit not by a whole lot but still) and not playing Gasol
Because 15-20 as a backup it's not gonna happen....it will be regular starters minutes or no minutes at all(huge longshot though,as I said, you can't justify benching 19 mil contract, even the way he is playing)

Addiction by substraction

Now,if we could get an above average piece or 2 average pieces to shore up some needs(backup PG,wing, another big maybe)for Pau I'd be thrilled, but his play made me lower my expectations by a lot

Exactly. The small ball lineup of without Pau in it is plus 40. Think about that, they're plus 40. With Gasol in there the same lineup (sans Dwight) is -12. The Laker's normal starting lineup is a plus 10. What does that tell you?

Gasol's defense at the 4 is a problem. It's the biggest problem.

Gasol & Duhon for Ersan Ilyasova, Beno Udrih & Sam Dalembert.

i'd consider it, though i'm not sure ersan is living up to that long term deal. 8mil for 4 yrs may be a little too long for the lakers long term plans.

Pau for Rudy G and Pondexter - Grizz get a year less paying roughly equivalent salary (16m v. 19m)

and some heresy - bring back Ammo. he can hit the three, excellent passer, decent defender and works his ass off

It's pretty tough to look through that past month but Ersan after being moved to the bench is putting up around 11 and 6 in only 20 minutes of play while shooting around 45% and over 50% from three. That's about a 17 game sample after his awful start.

I'd like to see Gasol as the back up center playing the 6th man role personally.

#RUMORED TRADE: Gasol, Bradley, Sullinger, Terry, picks to Kings; Thornton, Brooks, Hayes, Robinson to Lakers; Cousins, Garcia to Celtics.

Don't think it's legit, but something's probably in the works.

Crazy how not too long ago Gasol had enough value to help net us Chris Paul without giving up Bynum.

If Laker fans are hoping for any better than a lottery talent and some bench scoring, they'll be disappointed.

if +/- is accurate, lakers becomes a better team just by losing Pau (with the last 4 games as a refernce).

thortorn + brooks is 1000 times better than meeks+duhon
hayes is a serviceable backup small forward
