Is Metta playing himself into some positive trade value?

doubt it. i mean we need him our roster is so bad right now and i dont think anyone will give us anything of value considering his mental problems and the fact that hes old and really only valuable to teams trying to win within the next 2 years.

i mean ideally we need a sefolosha type player, and nobody will give us something like that for metta.

I wasn't able to watch the game, but it seems like we actually had a lead heading into halftime, for once. What happened after that?

Did Earl Clark impress in his limited minutes? The box score has him at nine rebounds. . .

Defense stopped in the 3rd and 4th, the it became a blow out. Clark hustled but he was out classed by better players.

The lakers hiring Dantoni just gave guys who already didn't like playing defense an excuse not to play defense..That's what it looks like were seeing now.
You almost have to try to allow the amount of points they have been allowing. The effort on the defensive end is pathetic. Im sure they figure Dantoni will get all the blame for that.

Maybe that's true...

But it's not about the Coach "Making guys play Defense". It's about the Coach working to get the whole team on the same page offensively and Defensively...

When I watch the Lakers now, I see little communication on either end of the floor. It improved when Nash came back on the offensive side, but it's still bad on the Defensive side.

That and a lack of urgency and focus on defense.

So IMO effort is all on the Players, but communication, urgency, and focus can all be improved by the coach to varying degrees.

Someone said that it doesn't look like the Lakers are buying into the system. That seems like it could be true to some degree.

They actually put more energy on the defensive end than I've seen in a while last night. they are just plain bad at it.

Dwight needs to learn to holler out on defense and tell the team what to do. He wants to be a leader, start it there.

Yeah... Dwight needs to talk before and during the play... Not just after it goes tits up...

But he also needs to rotate faster. I haven't watched every game but the ones I have, I see just as many blown plays by Howard as just about anyone. He's better at it but not a whole lot this season.
