Well Nash's onball D > Kobe's off ball D. At least Nash was trying.

Interesting thoughts from almost two years ago. I'm sorry, but some folks are really slow to see things.

this guy right here, from april 2011, knows what he's talking about:

dcash4 wrote:i don't really mind kobe's defense on paul. he simply can't guard cp3. i mean, i wouldn't expect cp3 to guard kobe, so i don't expect kobe to guard paul.

what i do mind, and i was watching kobe off the ball a lot, is that he's so LAZY. he's really good at pointing at what hornet should be rotated to, but he isn't about to do it himself.

There is something fundamentally wrong with the team... not just Pau.

We've seen this team suck without Pau too. Of course we'll get decent pieces back for Pau, but Nash,Kobe, and Dwight should be a dominating force without him. The fact that they weren't tells me there is other, larger issues.

I'd rather fire D'antoni than trade Pau honestly.

He would have put up 35 had he started at C. He has trade value. Again he's a finesse C and a trade is coming, enough is enough.

why are you getting an attitude saying enough is enough....this isn't a trade pau thread...i was just wondering what the people calling for pau's head thinks will happen when/if he does get trade...

You make zero sense. No one is calling for his head. The situation though is ridiculous.

Ya good post. It appears Kobe can play good D or good O but not both during the same game as it wears him down too much. Getting old sucks! :(

What about a trade to miami:

Pau for Bosh
or
Pau for Haslem+Battier
or
Pau for Cole+Battier+Lewis

Miami needs a C that can score and make plays or pass out for Miller+Allen. They already have great defenders and Pf position is stacked

I dont think we are interested in making the Heat better.

i wasn't asking for trade scenarios lol we already have a thread for that....i was asking what will follow for us if we do trade him....which is making me wonder why the front office is hell-bent on keeping this scrub....

Pau is certainly not a scrub. He is one of the most skilled 7 footers in the world. however, he is not meshing with this roster, coach or system. sometimes, great players or great coaches just need a change of scenery. that is what I believe is going on here. the Lakers will be better with him gone, addition by subtraction, and his new team will be better with Pau in the post having the offense run through him. it was the same in the last days in Memphis when he looked terrible.

I would throw a party and be a much more content Laker fan.

In all seriousness, depending on what they get back, I see them being a much better team. But that is dependent on the system they run and who the coach is. Pau does not fit this system or coach, he could still be a solid piece under the right setting though.

In Pau We NEED to Trust

Post#300 » by myersia » Tue Jan 22, 2013 6:04 am

Listen I have been just as critical as many posters of Pau. He has pissed me off many times due to his lackadaisical play. However, I have to give it to Pau. He WANTS TO BE HERE. He WANTS TO WIN AS A LAKER. The last few games I have enjoyed his energy. I say screw trading Pau. Keep Pau. He wants to be here. Trade the guy who doesn't want to be here. Trade DWIGHT. This guy won't even acknowledge his teammates on the floor. This guy doesn't give a damn if we lose. Idiotically I have to say that lately it almost seems like he is trying to either foul out or get ejected on purpose. So screw it. I don't blame Pau. I blame Pringles for being an idiot and D12 for being a selfish/ignorant prick.

I think we need to rally behind Pau. If we could get some young talent/athleticism for Dwight I think this team could be rejunivated. We need to fire Pringles (or hope that he resigns). So come on guys instead of blaming Pau, PRAISE HIM FOR PLAYING HARD! He wants to be here.
