Pau seemed to be limping pretty bad as he took/left the stage... Didn't look good.

Dr. Buss did more for the game then Stern over the last 3 decades IMO.

The inventor of the modern franchise.

Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

Let's hope this is not the beginning of the end. Sometimes you don't see it when it happens only in the hindsight. So lets hope brother & sister keeps this thing rolling.

To Dr. Buss You will forever be missed!

Okay, so ask a superfan, great idea. Needed to be Jack. Oh so obvious in hindsight.

Dropping the ball, kinda of a thing right now.

I think the Lakers are blessed. Dr. Buss established a legacy and pride but I think it is something royal and regal about the purple and gold. Just like the team colors the Lakers are the royalty of the NBA as far as I am concerned.

Dr. Buss put a lot of careful planning, like a great chemist he understood the formula for success. The team chemistry was right. The fan experience was enhanced by his planning. Buss did use a scientific method based on sound empirical methods. His experiment was great success. Buss putting so much trust and faith in Jerry West tied the past with the future and the Lakers were blessed repeatedly with the best players. In addition to being a great chemist, what Buss knew about real estate and development played in to building up the forum. He was like a master builder who had a vision of what he wanted the Lakers to be, like Show Time, before they became that.

It's almost like God blessed the Lakers with the coolest and the slickest and the hottest EVERYTHING. Jerry West IS the Logo. Jerry Buss was the coolest and most benevolent owner. The Hollywood area got stars. Magic's smile. Kareem's splendor and graceful gait and is sky hook. Kobe's "hey, he's like Mike but has his own swag" and his toughness and longevity. Phil Jackson, the son of a preacher who comes in talking about Zen and handing out books. Dating Buss' daughter, makes the champion coach more Hollywood. Shaq is amazing and the most dominant. The Big you fill in any number of great things. Even after it looked like his feud with Kobe would end the dynasty, like manna from heaven the Lakers got Gasol for virtually nothing they were interested in. And Metta is another Hollywood worthy guy. Like Odom and even Union rep Fisher.

I say I am a Laker hater, but I really thing the Lakers are blessed and highly favored. They are fun even to root against once in a while.

Dr Buss was a huge part of everything and he must have been blessed, because look at what happened to most of the things he touched. I appreciate him. I wish my team had an owner like him.
Bye bye Beal.

Yahoo! Sports picture tribute.

Not a lot of pictures, but well done, I gotta say. Fitting for a legend.

This is actually one of the best threads I have seen on a message board in the last year or more. Dr Jerry Buss will definitely be remembered as the best owner of a sports franchise ever.
