Josh Smith.

I'd much rather tank (so we have some hope for our future), than watching a Josh Smith Led team for the next five years on a max contract...........

Smith/Horford/Teague

Howard/MWP/Duhon

Onliest one I'd do.

That trade makes some of the least amount of sense I can imagine.

Good luck trying to find a general manager that will take on Artest and his $7 million player option.

I'd be down for that(and I think it's a pretty realistic trade,Hawks will probably say yes)...this season's over for us anyway

But imagine next year, with Gasol and Hill back in the lineup...we'd be absolutely stacked with good players

Kobe,Horford,Nash,Gasol,Clark,MWP,Hill,Teague,Korver

WT: Dwight thinks winning is the most important thing now...

The Los Angeles Lakers continue to be adamant in their position of being uninterested in trading Dwight Howard, believing he will re-sign in the offseason.

Mitch Kupchak has been consistent privately when teams have called about Howard as he has been in public.

"They're too arrogant to move him now, even if Dwight asked for it," one rival GM said. "They're the Lakers, and they'll dare you to walk away in July. And if I was them, I would, too."

Kobe Bryant has grown at least publicly indifferent about the situation.

"I don't know what they're going to do," Bryant said Sunday. "At this point, it doesn't matter."

Sources say that Howard now believes winning must be his top priority in making a free agent decision. Howard will consider the path for the Lakers to compete and his decision will be based on best odds of winning more than marketing and geography.

On a side note... Who the hell is that GM? That has to be one of the most idiotic things I've ever read. Whichever team has that as the GM must be a lot of fun... Cuban/Mavs?
We're daring Dwight to leave... The Lakers... Not because he'd be leaving 20M on the table, but because we're arrogant. Makes perfect sense.

imagine us next yr with gasol back? please his softness and lack of heart/energy are on of the problems on this team....besides stephen a. already reported that dwight is determined to leave la and join brook......and when that happens it will be the most memorable group of "superstars" assymbled.... dwight and d12 together? nothing but complaing, lack of heart, underperforming ...and two players that will get a coach fired at a moment's notice....will be great to watch next season....i think we're better off with hill, pau gapu55y, earl, kobe, some kind of starting pg .....i doubt we'll win anything anytime soon with old kobe, b*tch a55 gasol and role players...but it's better than going through hell just to make d12 happy...

from a nets fans perspective, and being involved in dwightmares for 3 years, it is an act in futility to try and get into dwights head or even speculate on what he might or might not do. I mean, just look at the situation he was in:

- He had an ETO, and be a free agent
- He wanted to play for the nets
- The nets wanted dwight badly, had the cap room, and where willing to give any and all assets for him
- He had Dan Fegan as his agent, one of the very best at getting his clients what and where they want

so what happens, in the sitation where dwight has all the power, all the say, a superagent, and the team he wants to go to is dying for him?

he delcines to use his ETO, shuts out his agent, commits verbally to playing it out with orlando, apologizes to the fans and ownership.

treating dwight like a rational, stable mind that wont change course or be swayed is not a smart move. especially when he is so image conscious. luckily, you guys have a great front office, competent GM and everyone wants to play in LA. im sure whatever happens you guys come out smelling like roses

Nothing that I've seen convinces me Dwight will resign in the summer. and if your only argument for him resigning is "he'll tarnish his legacy and leave x amount on the table" then more power to you in believing that.

now if that's the sole reason why he'll stay then ask yourself what's the point do we even want him here knowing how mentally fragile he can be, because at this point I dont..

It's really sad what some people resort to believing. We've all witnessed what happened to his legacy and character during his final year with Orlando. It shouldn't be a shock if it was repeated with the Lakers this year.

Except Houston wouldn't. The rockets overvalue the hell out of Harden. Dude is not a max player. Good but no a max player.

Harden not a max player? I wonder what that says about Kobe and the 27million he's making this year.
