Kupchak said he is not trading Dwight Howard.

I really hope the lakers know what the hell they are doing!

Lol, you're pointing to that to make you feel better? How is that any different than what Mitch said 13 days ago? You guys are emotional wrecks, it'll get better though.

Also let me add this. We all will be emotional wrecks when the lakers are mediocre for the next five or so years.

Kupchak: "There’s not a way to upgrade the talent on this team. I don’t anticipate anything dramatic talking place in the next 2 days."

Lakers have bird rights, other teams don't, reason why Lakers won't trade him.

He doesn't want to be traded because he doesn't want what happened in Orlando to happen again, he also doesn't want to be traded because he wants to make his own decision at the end of the season. That's what I read a while back. Like I said before, I'll see if I can find better when I have time later. If later is too long of a wait then oh well.

I won't be. I understand no team can stay at the top throughout the whole league's existence, there's down periods for each franchise. Seemingly only the bandwagon fans refuse to comprehend this.

The only thing that could make me an emotional wreck is if we trade Howard for anything that's been proposed on this website. Brook Lopez would be enough of an emotional wreck to cause me to stop rooting for the Lakers.

True. However, given his history you don't think this helps Dwight gain more leverage? In the summer he is going to demand a trade so his bird rights are traded to the Nets. Now other teams will not trade with us and know that we are desperate because Dwight can just leave us if he wants to join the Mavs or Rox. Yes that means he walks away from 30 million, but in the end we are screwed. If he walks then what do we do? Trade Pau? Trade Nash? Trade MWP? Earl will probably be gone as well.

From what I understand. Since we are over the cap we cannot sign and trade him. ( new CBA)

Because my words hit with the same force as a 300 lb lumberjack sucker punch. But it seemed like you were pushing me for answers man, I told you that's the because I can do right now. I'll try to find better when I get more time, but what I just laid out describes the Howard situation.

I am still confused about sign and trades. I thought someone had said we can still sign and trade him.

You're only screwed until the 2014 offseason, at which point you've got a clean slate and can probably attract some damn good free agents to vault you back into contention again. Kowtowing to that idiot manchild isn't going to lead to anything good. Given his situation, anyone trading for him is going to do their best to rip you off.

I believe that doesn't go into effect until the start of next season.

yep, nets cannot get dwight in the summer. they're only chance is in the next 2 days.

edit: and yeah, the lakers can trade him sign n trade him away at any time, rule is only for when you're receiving the player.

Nets don't have any leverage with those bloated contracts they signed with Brooks and Kardashian. I think the Nets have moved on, even D-Will is done with Howard. I doubt the Lakers will do a bone headed sign and trade, and would rather have him walk if he chooses and go to Hotlanta, Dallas or Houston, but if he wants to win and make more money (not even counting endorsements in la), then he be smart and stay here.

At this point I would be very happy if lakers can get Asik and Lin/Parson + some draft picks

Lin
Kobe
Clark
Gasol
Asik

Trade Nash and Ron Artest (Exp next year) for some big time bench player, Lakers are set for the next 2 years.

That dude gossips more than a women, it's funny as hell to me because the boy seems so damn gullible. Anybody believing half of this BS needs to be slapped. Further more if the Nest want Howard they better get started on shedding about $28 mil, cause that's the only way they're getting him.

Lin doesn't like the lime light. That is why he was okay with leaving the New York Knicks. Even Stephen A. Smith stated this.
