NBA TRADE DEADLINE NEWS

In light of the sad news we all received in lakerland today, I decided to make a thread to keep ours minds at ease that is dedicated to all NBA trade deadline news. This thread is not a trade thread. Instead we can post all rumors, signings, official trades in this thread. Again, this is NOT A TRADE THREAD. Please include links to all rumors, signings, or trades heard/discussed.

Some news thus far:

Never liked the way our board does the trade deadline. putting all the news in one thread where people endlessly make up trades that they would like to happen instead of actual trades being rumored always appeared odd to me.

Also after an official trade is made or a rumor is suggested we have numerous threads being made which leads to poor organization on our board. However if that is the way everyone wants to do it, then go ahead and lock this thread up. Just thought I would help our board look a little more organized and always admired how other boards make one NBA trade deadline thread.

I like it. I barely even go into the trade thread because as Myersia said its usually made up trade scenarios that will never happen.

The trade thread has always been a get an idea out of your system and keep it in one place thread. It was never used for real NBA transactions.

If you guys want to use this thread instead of the around the nba thread to post other teams' rumors and transactions then that's fine. But real Lakers rumors and trades will probably end up getting its own thread. Myersias past deadline memory seems to be different than mine.

Each rumor gets it's own thread until there are too many and then we merge the hell out of them. We can merge them into this thread if need be.

i've tried my best to make topics where you want opinions...and you think you make it known that you don't want it to be a trade thread...and then ye behold...it becomes a trade thtread anyways...and you get in trouble for others turning it into one...smh

This is my last piece of advice to you about this issue.

You create topics that have already been posted in a different thread and quite so often you are two days too late. Look at this thread for example:

viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1233453

I let this stay open for a reason to let you know that no one is interested in re-visting something that's already been discussed in another topic. That thread stayed open for a day without a single response and finally someone decided to spam it.

So NewsFlash:: No one really cares what you think!

If you have issues with how the forum is maintained, you are welcomed to take your posting talents elsewhere. There's no lack of internet forums and someone might just tolerate you.

Good luck and stop derailing other threads.

Game. Set. Match. Killed him

Come on Mitch, add that backup SF (Green, TWill)

Terrence Williams is done in China. He is worlds better than Ebanks and perhaps World Peace. He is a good defender and has quickness World Peace doesn't and is pass first not trigger happy like World Peace. Boston might sign T Will but they already have a good forward rotation. Earl Clark was another former player in the lottery and same college just needed a chance

STRENGTHS:
- Executes offensively
- Transition play
- Versatility
- Ability to contest shots
- Ability to get in passing lanes
- All-around defense
- Lateral quickness
- Versatility to defend multiple positions
- Energy/Intensity
- Experience
- Physical Toughness
- Potential
- Role-player potential
- High-level productivity
- Level of competition
- Positional versatility
- Ability to create for others
- Assist to turnover ratio
- Court vision
- Athleticism
- Conditioning
- NBA body
- Size for position
- Wingspan
- Excellent rebounder
- 3-point shooting percentages
- Ability to catch and shoot
- Improved perimeter shot
WEAKNESSES:
- Ability to get to free throw line
- Ability to play at different speeds
- Efficiency
- Lacks significant offensive polish
- Out of control at times
- Settles for bad shots
- Ability to create own shot
- Struggles to create with off hand
- Basketball IQ?
- Questionable intangibles
- Ability to shoot off the dribble
- Free throw shooting
- Pull-up jumper

Or Donte Green. Green is a 6'10 young stout defender at the 3 spot. He isn't a star but could be a great potential role player from us. He can stroke is better from the SF spot better than anyone we have. He was just another guy stuck in that poor kings team. Name a player who has thrived on that team. He can't create for himself, he can but when he does he shoots low from the field. If he was playing next to Kobe, Dwight, Nash he would light it up with those open looks. He is young and athletic and able to guard SFS in this league. Another Earl Clark, several teams are interest and we are a playoff team in need of a spark, youth welcomed, and help at the SF. Perhaps another Ariza or Clark. Come on Mitch
- Excellent skill-level
- Budding/basic back to basket game
- Work ethic
- Fluidity
- Frail frame
- Size for position
- Undersized
- Ability to create separation from defender
- NBA 3-point range
- Perimeter shooting ability
- Pick and pop potential
- Pull-up jumper
-Defense
WEAKNESSES:
- Shot-selection
- Stuck between 3 and 4
- Ball-handling skills
- Left hand
- Ability to defend position at next level?
- Doesn't always play hard
- Not ready to contribute immediately
- Physical Toughness
- Poor wingspan

I just have a feeling Mitch is waiting for a home-run deal to fall into his lap for Dwight...

I think he's waiting to see what can be done with the core before he decides what complimentary moves need to happen.

Maybe a Pau trade too... But I just don't see anyone trading for Pau while he's injured... And I think so far they've been low-balling on Howard...

But I just think Mitch is holding off until the last possible minute before he makes any moves to see if anything can be done to the core.

I think we are not going to fill that 15th spot until after the deadline too. By then a potential impact player like the two I listed with have signed with rivals ala Boston :/

how about giving Chris Douglas Roberts a second chance slasher/scorer. Heres a video of him still trying to improve his game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Bqo4g2bC4o. One thing is certain moving forward Ron artest cannot be a starter, coming off bench is better for him now.

Boston doesn't even have a chance, and they keep getting all these players who could be useful for us :x
