Living in Michigan I remember this like yesterday. Everyone was excited to get Kobe. You should of saw all the pistons fan that believed that Kobe would accept being a piston. People were going crazy because they thought that Billups, Kobe, Rasheed, and Ben met dynasty. I never believed it for a second. The day Kobe chooses to live in Michigan instead of California.....

I still remember the Bulls rejecting the deal around Deng because they didn't want to give up Hinrich. That worked out pretty well for them.

I think the exact deal was

Kobe

For

Tayshaun Prince, Rip Hamilton, Jason Maxiell and two draft picks
"Yea wtf HAHA, I would take Rubio over Westbrook 10 times out of 10"

Wait was this before the year durant got drafted? Without kobe we mighta been the 2nd worst team in the league and drafted kevin durant. LOL. Ovbiously we'd be 2 rings down but hey maybe not as bad as my initial reaction.

That wasn't a trash offer at the time. Pistons were a powerhouse team. Rip was an all-star, Tayshaun was an all-NBA defender, Amir or Maxiell was a young asset and you get 1st(s).
