I hope they delete this, we don't care about Lebron on this board. Lebron is good we get it. All this thread is going to do is have Lebron fanboys invading and transporting quotes back to the brainless board.

I like LeBron and Kobe. I like LeBron a bit more cause he had to work that much harder for his chip. I am one of the few guys that loved his decision to go on ESPN and do the decision and get everyone so worked up lol.

It is impossible to tell. If Kobe had a contemporary like Lebron throughout his career, I honestly think he would be a different player (probably better). He would have absorbed Lebron's moves like he has every great player.

What he's doing right now will all be moot. Playoff matters. We already know he's a stat whore who crunches his numbers. People will be laughing when he goes to the playoffs trying to protect his stats, and then loses games for it.

Kobe at 29.. that was like what, 5-6 seasons ago -- 2006/2007ish? Probably the most prolific scorer. ESPN analysts were all over him at the time, annointing him a better scorer than MJ. He was putting up some of the most ridiculous numbers. He literally had every shot in the book. Harden, the other day dropped 46 or something? We're amazed with that, but that was a norm for our boy Kobe.

Defensively though, Kobe was decent. As we all know, we didnt have a balanced team back then, and Kobe's scoring was needed more than his defense. In the following years after we got Pau though, Kobe started playing some lockdown d against Rondo, Westbrook, Tony Parker, Manu, & a lil bit of Melo/AI. If we we're contending with a balanced team in 2006/2007, I wouldn't doubt Kobe's ability to lockdown, and would still put him infront of Lebron in terms of defense.

One thing I'll give Lebron though, he's a much much smarter player at 29 than Kobe. Being more efficient, using his superior athleticism to get to certain spots, constantly taking and making high % shots and making plays for others. Doesn't take heat checks, hero shots, forced shots and what not.

Ultimately, Kobe at 29 was still a better 2-way player IMO. But Lebron is more smarter, more resourceful (statistically), and has an opportunity to overtake Kobe and maybe even MJ -- no choking though, he has alot of work to do.

This is coming from one of Lebron's biggest haters.

I think LeBron can beat Kobe legacy. However LeBron needs to win at least 6 championships for that conversation to be accepted by the haters. A lot of the haters will bring up oh he lost in the finals twice, had to team up with Bosh and Wade, took his talents to south beach, etc. Either way I love both Kobe and LeBron and would be happy if we saw Kobe in South beach along side of LeBron.
