Metta World Peace waived. Will he return?

He will be waived by the Knicks. Do we try and scoop him up for the remaining season? Does it even matter  ?

God no...we have Wes Johnson to brick three pointers and play pesky defense, don't need/want MWP.

That did not work as expected. Surely he's a better stretch 4 than Bargs right?

Anyone care to make a thread about the state of the Lakers following the Celtics win we got last night? I'm curious to know what everyone's thoughts are... especially if we get MWP

Yeah but Wes IQ is horrid on offense, at least Metta understands where his limits are.

That's a good point. I really hope Wes isn't brought back after this season. He showed some flashes of brilliance early in the season, but has sucked for the most part since. Have no idea how this guy went ahead the likes of Cousins, Hayward, and George.

Metta understood his limits on offense except those random possessions where he isos at the top of the key and dribble penetrates into either dribbling it off his own knee out of bounds or getting it stolen.

He can't come back until a year from the date he was amnestied.

Sure, why not. Get Clark, Jamison, and Duhon too.

That's true only if the player contract runs out and he goes into free agency. But he's being waived.

Metta's case may be a little different. Since he was amnestied by the Lakers but cleared waivers, he was able to sign with the Knicks for the vet min. His contract with the Lakers was 5 years ( 4 and a player option ), he picked up the option.

This is from the CBA....

“The waiving team may not re-sign or re-acquire the player for the length of his contract (which includes seasons following an early termination option, but does not include seasons following an option)

But you could be 100% correct, I'm still trying to find more concrete evidence that we can't do it.

We're starting over, but I'm still sad to see those guys like Blake and Metta gone...and when Gasol goes, I'll really feel it
He will rise again...
