2015 Lakers Trade Deadline thread

Post#1 » by iVC15 » Tue May 6, 2014 7:12 am

i think kobe and cousins would be an awesome 1,2 punch

would something centered around your first round pick work?

if so then kobe could help demarcus cousins mature up abit and kobe is always
great with a good bigman

???
Kobe
Nick young?
Pau?
Demarcus

thoughts?

Why does every one want to trade the laker only draft pick this high in years. I say keep it and build with it.

For Cousins? Do that in a heart beat.

I think you are too high on Cousins. But for 6th+ pick, I would think about it.

Demarcus Cousins is a mediocre big man at best who looks good at times because it's an incredibly weak era for Bigs in the NBA (Howard: "Best Big Man")... He's a headcase and overpaid for how much impact he has on the game...

throw in rondo and you have a lineup of 3 mean players. they might be able to rub off on pau too.

I would take it if we land at 6 or 7.. Not very high odds that player will end up as good as Cousins. & Cousins would have more immediate impact to help us recruit another allstar in 2015.. Worst case he's probably a better trade asset than the player we draft will be for 3-4 seasons.

Next.

let me first say that I wouldn't really want DMC on the team due to his personality troubles, but to call him a mediocre big man is just completely wrong. There's nothing mediocre about his play especially this year where he improved his offensive efficiency a whole lot over his previous seasons. He was putting up something like 22/11 in just 32 minutes of play for the majority of the season, while also putting by far and away the best defensive numbers for his dreadful defensive team. In fact the only big men if we're just evaluating play moving forward that I would draft over him that are in the league already would be AD (who will be in a class of his own), Blake, and Love.

There are a few players that I'd quit on the Lakers if they were signed. Cousins, Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings top that list.
