we shouldnt sign guys like Monroe. mediocre players never lead to titles.

we should tank next year. For real. if we get a top 5 pick somehow, we get to keep it.

or we just pray everyone goes cray cray in Houston and we get a lotto pick out of them......

So, in 2016 we'll only have Randle and Nick Young on our team, hopefully Young opts out and it will be just Randle. LeBron's current deal with Cavs it's for 2 years, so, we can go for both LeBron and Durant. Not bad, not bad...

Why do I always feel the need to come back here when our team sucks the most?
I guess realgm is a place where I can vent when our team sucks. These are dark days in Laker history. I feel like we just keep waiting year after year for a player to rescue this team. I feel like we should just tank and get a franchise player in the draft that we can mold to be a true Laker, I'm tired of our franchise chasing these FA that don't have love for our city or team.

Apparently Lebron signed a 2 year deal with Cleveland. More power to 2016!

What's even bad is on top of a team that will lose at least 50 games a year the next two years...WE HAVE NO LOTTERY PICK NEXT YEAR

ONLY HOPE FOR ANYONE TO BE INTERESTED IS IF RANDLE CAN PLAY BASKETBALL

GREAT JOB JIM AND JEANNIE...EVERYBODY IS DYING TO WATCH CBA PLAYERS THAT YOUR LAKERS GOT THIS OFFSEASON

IMHO 2016 was always Plan A. If not, why give Kobe that contract? They knew they couldn't win but they also depending on a star on the court to sell tickets and generate influx on Lakers TV, etc. So we are rebuilding while not really rebuilding. lol. Suck during Kobe's final years and then start another era.

2016 will be the year we could be able to accommodate up to 3 stars. And I heard people talking about the new tv contract, how much the CAP is expected to increase by 2016?

Mitch is doing a very good job so far. No long contracts for old people but still getting some entertaining players to play for the team and fill the seats. Lakers cannot do a Philly, so he's doing what he can to accomplish both things.

Now, by 2016 he'll have to deliver at least one superstar. That's the hardest part of the plan. Even if you do everything right you still wont have the certainty that your plan will work when it's all said and done.

Only 2 years people. We can support randle this year, watch Kobe's final years and also cheer against rockets as hard as we can. Hopefully mitch can get a pick from other team by 2015 or at the trade deadline so we can cheer against that team as well haha.

That guarantees plenty of entertainment to get over the 'rebuilding' phase without too much pain.

No protection. The pick is ours this years.

We should find 4-5 teams better than the Rockets overall....now if Howard goes down at some point it's even better

Haha, I can't wish an injury to anyone but if he got Odom's candy addiction would do it for me. :D No harm on wishing that to someone. Or wishing on him developing a hatred for Basketball like Bynum did... haha. I mean, he's already rich so no harm in disliking his job.

Anyways, just the trill of cheering against them will keep me motivated to watch more live games.

+1. Plan A is 2016. They also did not plan to tank. The injuries forced the tanking.

2016 is when they can vote to throw out the current CBA. That's why Kobe's contract ends then. I don't think Kobe wants to deal with another Lockout... And I can almost guarantee there will be another lockout.

Ending Contracts then makes a lot of sense for both players and teams... A lot may change. And Contracts after 2016 might look a lot different than the ones before.

This hard-cap nonsense is only popular with a handful of very vocal owners... And with Sterling gone, there may be one less of them.

Expected to go north of 80M+ right?

And we all know Lebron gets what he wants... lol

Could actually work out in the Lakers favor, though. Nobody likes a rebuild but we will be in the right place at the right time. Kupchak seems to be betting his job on it.
