I sometimes wonder how much more elite his team would look if he didn't take Beal in the second round. That was an epic reach. And I don't think Beal's outlook is that good fantasy wise.

Beal was solid in the short time that he was healthy this season. I probably did reach on him but I still think he has room to grow as a player. Just to put things into perspective, Ray Allen didn't really take off until his 4th year either.....and I don't think its a reach to think that he could drop 20+ ppg and finish in the top 10 in 3 pm next season.

You know when something's too far and you go and get it.

It obviously wasn't too far for the regime because he drafted him. If you think that in hindsight it was too far and he should have been taken later on, well for one it's way too early to come to that conclusion and two, hindsight opinions don't matter unless they can be used to predict the future.

You can say that.

Hey Ty, can't we reclaim our players from the IL now? Would like to see my complete roster and plan for the draft. Thanks man.

So why does it appear that you guys are criticizing the regime for way too early hindsight?

Dem guys only though. You can I say I went the same route when I picked Vuc as my 2nd pick. It's just that Beal has not come around as expected (yet in Regime's perspective).

Hindsight? I stated Beal went a little too high on draft night and I've been on the money with that call so far. We can't predict the future, but based on what we see in game along with statistical data, we can sure as hell determine whether a player's game/ceiling merits that high a selection.

I probably view more Wizards games than most do here as I am a big fan of Wall so I've gotten the chance to dissect Beal's game pretty thoroughly. The conclusion I've drawn is there's little in his play style and physical capabilities that lead me to believe he could blossom into a more dynamic player than he already is. He is strictly a points and 3's guy. The statistics back it up and so does the eye test. Those two categories will be his bread and butter as a fantasy asset moving forward. And, when you get right down to it, that's not generally a player the consensus targets with their second overall selection (Dynasty or otherwise) unless they are godly elite at it, which to MY knowledge Beal has yet to prove he can be; He is still a work in progress even as a 3 and points guy. All this doesn't really matter debating however since Regime did an excellent job drafting there on after

Actually you're overlooking assists potential, since Washington basically has him run the offense with their second unit. He has decent steals numbers and rebounding is one of those stats that'll increase with playing time. 2 3s, 17 ppg, 4 assists, 4 rebounds and 1.3 steals. That's a somewhat optimistic yet still realistic goal for beal next year. Assuming his turnovers remain under 2.3, his fg% continues to rise and his ft% hovers just below 80%, I'd say that's something like 4th round value at least. For a player that has yet to hit his statistical prime in a dynasty league.

I'm going to stand pat with my trades. I think I know who I want for my first rounder. I'm willing to give away my second if anyone's interested.

i dont understand what the whole beal conversation was about, taking him in the second round is a reach. does anybody honestly think he will ever put up 2nd round value? does anyone think he will be comparable to guys like Aldridge, Lillard, Ibaka, Millsap, etc?

I don't disagree with matt btw. I just like to bring up that he finished last.
