Haha! Joke is on us! The guy is already done! He's just not done getting paid.

I have zero respect for Nash! He has two MVP trophies he doesn't deserve and has done nothing but hurt this team since he has arrived! See you Nash! Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!

He was done a year ago. No GM in his right mind would offer him a contract anyways other than may be the Suns offering a 10 day deal so he could retire a Sun.

Great career though, wish it would have worked out for him here and got a ring.

Without a doubt the worst roster move in team history, at least Kwame and even Smush had some value to us.mNash is just a boil on the ass of laker life these past three years, and he owes his buddy Pringles for last year. Pringles made sure he got 10 games and the assit record by barely playing even some full first quarters at times

I felt bad for Malone but not him at all

I don't think anyone is happy about how his stay turned out, but if you're really frustrated it should be with the front office.

Believe me, they had access to his medical records. Steve Nash didn't "trick" the Lakers into signing him, it's more like we gave a dinosaur with documented nerve problems a big contract. I don't blame him for taking the money.

Yeah it's whatever. He's going to run his course collecting his paychecks. He could of helped the team and retire so his contract could come off the books and returned as an assistant coach, kinda like when Kareem was hired by the Lakers to train Bynum but it's whatever...Nash is "perfect" in the eyes of a lot of people. That's all I'm going to say about this guy.

It's incredibly fortunate for Lin to have Nash mentoring him in the great PG's last season as a player, great value as far as I'm concerned; and it should be for Lakers fans too if it does indeed help in a major way and Lin stays long term. Nash will be full of wisdom, pretty available, they won't be competing for PT and they will be playing against each other in practice, godsend?

The last thing I'd ask of him is to please pass on some knowledge to Jeremy Lin. That's the least he could do for the Lakers.

worse trade ever...this is far worse than Bynum for Howard, at least we got a year of that big baby. With Nash we're getting 3 yrs of nerve irritations and bad back all the meanwhile losing 2 1st and a 2nd rd pick and overpaid him for nothing.

Thing that really always pissed and still pisses me far more with him than a Malone or a payton is the use of "they". In 3 years he's thrown out more they's than We's when asked about the roster or team or coaching outside Dantoni than Malone or Gary ever did that one year. He doesn't even see himself a laker IMO, doesn't feel like one, and its best for the ties to be cut ASAP without impacting the team.

Yep, I wish him no ill will. I hope he can gain some consistency this season and go out on his own terms, doing what he loves. If Nash can play 55+ games, this team will be significantly better on and off the court.

I got respect for Nash. Yea his contract sucks but the FO took a risk and knew the consequences. I'm sure he worked his ass off last year trying to come back. Let the man try to go out with some pride and confidence. I for one will be pulling for Nash this season.

I respect Nash too.
He was brought in to win a ring with Kobe, Pau, and D12.
It was a good thought, and I applauded like most of us when it happened.

But due to no fault of his, it didn't work out as he had a bad injury from the get-go.
But I have to say, the right thing for him to do would have been to retire.
I can't see him having a significant contribution on the court next year.
He came here to win a ring, and that won't happen.
I can understand why he wouldn't want to walk away from $9 mil, but there was a time where he had the option of getting paid, but retiring due to medical reasons. He chose not to do that.
That has hurt the Lakers and the ability of the FO to work with more cap room.
And as much as I generally respect him as one of the all-time great guards, I lost some respect for him as he hurt the Lakers by not retiring.

That said, I will cheer him if I go to Staples next year and if he gets in the game, as I hope all of us Laker fans would too.

sorry it didn't work out with the Lakers. like the other poster said, it'll be nice if he takes Lin and Clarkson under his wing like fulltime next season and pass the torch.
