So, if all the rehab and recovery has helped Nash get over that issue, that's obviously a big deal. When he was briefly able to get back on the court last season, you could see that he was still capable of being effective. The problem was that he couldn't sustain it. It would be fantastic if, now, the future Hall of Famer could have one last hurrah after all he has gone through.

One last hurrah for Steve Nash.. Would be great if he ended his tenure with the purple and gold on a positive note.

"I've had a really good summer of training and rehabilitating," Nash said. "I'm not 100 percent, but I'm pretty close. Good enough to go out there Tuesday. I'm thrilled I've had this time to build myself back up, and I believe I'll have a great year."

-Steve Nash 2013 off season.

I'll believe it when I see it.

IF this IF that and IF I was millionaire...so many IF's. All it would take is 1 hard knee bump and I bet that nerve crap comes back like wild fire. Nash just go and sit on the bench in a suite and collect your check from the insurance company so the team can marginalize some of their loses.

Glad to see the trend of YouTube comments making its way to the board. Should be another exciting season!

I don't want to let myself believe... both because it seems impossible and also because the Cinderella story would rule the NBA even if they just barely snuck into the playoffs behind healthy Kobe and Nash.

They need to do the right thing and just make Nash an assistant coach or player development coach. As much as Nash helps team spirit and camaraderie, he'll also hurt us when he's in and out of the lineup disrupting chemistry. And lastly, why take minutes away from younger players who we need to develop? That's the bigger priority than competing right now.

One bump and he's back to the trainer's table. Don't believe any news about Nash...

Like I say in relation to any veteran player, non contact drills, summer workouts, pick up basketball and even playing an organized game once a week is still very easy for a professional NBA player but when it comes to taking heavy contact, logging consistent minutes over a game every other day, that's what separates a current NBA player from a has been.

IMO it's good to have Lin learn from a healthy Nash, in the mean time getting better and stronger by observations and self-improvement, and hopefully learns to be less injury prone. Pass it down!

He still needs to be benched and Lin gets to start and play 35 mpg for obvious reasons

Abolsutely. Steve Blake added a ton to his game after a season or two with Nash, like probing dribbles into passing lanes, pull up jumpers from mid range etc. If Lin can grasp some of his skill, that'd be sweet.

if nash can run circles into the heart of defenses and dish the ball like he did before, the lakers are in OK shape.

The right thing is honoring the contract they gave him and allowing him his chance to work back from his injury (which he apparently has) and becoming a contributing member to the team during the last year of his deal.
