Kobe Needs to Lose Weight
He looks 20-30 pounds too heavy out there......it's why he's putting so much arc on his jumpshot, he's not getting enough elevation.

Re: Kobe Needs to Lose Weight
I'm sorry, but 20-30 lbs too heavy? You realize his playing weight fluctuated between 205-215 throughout his career, right? Meaning, according to you, he's 225-245 lbs right now - seems a bit ridiculous doesn't it? Imagine how noticeable that would be. You'd have pundits and posters decrying his weight gain left and right...
C'mon, you apes! You wanna live forever?

He's 36 coming off Achilles/knee injuries. He's just old, not fat.

Kobe started the weight losing trend, but it didn't get this much attention. Now that Lebron has lost weight everybody and their momma is saying they should lose weight geez!

He's just old and not as athletic. That's it. He won't be dunking on two defenders anymore.

Re: Kobe Needs to Lose Weight
I agree with most of the replies. Kobe looks like he always has to me. If anything he might be 5-8 lbs heavier but he'll shed that before or during the early part of the season. Kobe's weight or conditioning has never been an issue as he has taken care of his body better or as well as anyone in the league. He looks exactly like I thought he would. That injury last year was probably a blessing in disguise as his Achilles, knees and body for an extra year of rest which was much needed. Looks fresh!

I don't think you have a good understanding of what +/- 20-30lbs would look like on someone with Kobe's frame.
He'd be border line anorexic if he lost 30 pounds right now. OP are you crazy?

Re: Kobe Needs to Lose Weight
If he can somehow get his ego surgically removed, that's 50 pounds right there.
Hahaha.
Sorry, sorry... total 'hater' comment, I know. But it was just too easy.

After watching a bit of tonights Jazz game, Kobe is in turrrrrible shape, conditioning wise. Not that that's unexpected, just evident.

Complaining? Hardly. The man was winded, and obviously so. It's an observation, not condemnation.
It's not like even at the advanced age of 36 he can't fight off alzheimers and get in running shape again.

Re: Kobe Needs to Lose Weight
TBH Kobe looks very tired out there. His conditioning still on progress.
