The second tweet is interesting. I guess the front office seem to have convinced him to stay fit, knock off the rust for this season and then go all in for next free agency to put together a better roster.

Kobe hasn't played over 40 mpg in 8 yrs so I guess there really isn't a minute retriction

Any minute restriction wil go down the water the minute we're in a hole(and looking at the schedule, that might be at the beginning of the season)

If we're down big in the rankings,no way you continue playing Kobe 32-33 mpg like you would like ...outside of Pop,there's not one coach in the league who has the balls to keep managing minutes through adversity

Scott will panic,I don't have any doubt about that

I expect at least 36 mpg for the season ,when it's all said and done

Minute restrictions are on a per game basis, not an average. Kobe's played over 40 minutes.

The lowest minutes per game Kobe last played was 33.9 in 2010-11.....the last season Phil was coach and had started what he called " watching Kobe's minutes". Ironically that's the last season Kobe played all 82 games.

I'd like to see Kobe hover around 30-31 minutes.

restriction? thats the dumbest thing to do with a once in a generation player who is playing about 2 more seasons and isn't contending. let him play and let us witness his last 2 years of legendness

honestly, i wouldn't mind the lakers and kobe agreeing to let kobe walk and ring chaseā€¦its impossible, it won't happen since both sides are super dedicated to each other and its a great example for young stars, but man it would be awesome to just watch kobe compete at a high level for a contending team like the bulls. i wouldn't mind that at all, and id be glad for the lakers and kobe.
