have to agree here....people can make up all the excuses in the world for him but fact is he's just a very solid weakside shot blocker, not that its a bad thing but as far as helping overall team D, I just don't see it. Its obviously gona take a MAX offer to get him even remotely interested ad while cap will rise, I feel he's not gona be worth the money still. Besides that, Clipps have no choice but to pay and keep him, with or without him Clipps have no money to add a max FA that's not on their team already.

A shotblocker alone doesn't create a top 10 defense...

Let's say all key RFA's are matched, Portland signs their big three guys (Aldridge/Wes/Lopez), Gasol re-signs in Memphis and Monroe/Danny Green end up in NY. Brook Lopez, Kevin Love, LeBron and Al Jefferson opt in.

Rondo is debating a deal between the Lakers and Mavericks and would go to the highest bidder.
Omer Asik is still on the market as is DeMarre Carroll, Arron Afflalo, etc. How do the Lakers use their cap space?
Disclaimer: Trades I post shouldn't make you stressed or angry if you disagree. If you say it's unproductive because it won't happen and we're only allowed to post deals that actually happen, it takes away 99% of trades here and the fun out of the board.

You gotta spend on someone and add talent, especially when the pick is only top 3 protected. If we keep our pick this season, we'll draft either a center (Okafor/Towns/Stein) or a PG (Mudiay/Russell) with an outside chance of either Hejonza or Stan Johnson.

I wouldn't mind Asik/Tobias Harris on a decent deal, offer the max to Dragic. Say no to Rondo, Carroll or Afflalo. May be bring Lin back if we fail to land Dragic.

I'm interested in Asik as well if the front office decides to draft Russell or Looney. I think he'd pair nicely with Randle in the front court.

I think it'll take 12m for Orlando not to match on Harris considering his production this season and continually being a focal point of the team along with Oladipo and Payton, with Gordon apparently coming into his own.

I'd also love to somehow steal away Mirotic from the Bulls but that's a pipe dream :(

IF we're in position to get one of the 2 bigs, Town/Okafor we gota throw max at Butler or Leonard and hope one sticks. Then throw Rondo the scraps lol, he takes great if not move on and maybe reup Lin for MLE type money. Try to draft more 3/D type swing man with hou pick and our 2nd rd pick.

Anyone think we'll be able to dump Kelly and his salary away? It shouldn't be too hard.

- 29.8% from the field
- 25.49% on 2 point shots
- 14% on shots 3-10 feet (WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?!)

Like.. that's beyond awful.

Oh, and what's causing his FG% to be 29.8% after looking at those numbers? 36.2% from 3..

dream scenario, get #1pick, pushes Minn some how down to 3rd, Minn doesn't want Russell (due to Rubio at PG, possibly playing Shabaz or Wiggins at 2) so here goes lol

Minn-#1 pick,
La-#3 (Russell), Bos Pick (10th, Stien), Minn 2nd rd
Bos-Pek, Hou Pick

max out offer to Leonard or Butler (most likely Butler doesn't get matched, hope for the best lol)

Russell
Butler
Kobe
Randle
Stein

we could potentially have ur pg, pf, c of the future, worse case scenario I say 2 of the 3 work out with Stein being the likely Bust.

Pek's value is extremely low right now. Kind of like salary dump stage.

I would strongly consider retaining Ed Davis and starting him at C if the Lakers don't get Towns or Okafor in the draft. His added bulk has made him a feasible solution down there. I'd rather do that than say pay Jordan a huge contract. Man-to-man he's good enough, his shot-blocking is great, and he's capable of cutting off the P and R. In the last five games as a true backup C in 20 mpg, he's put up 8, 8, and 1.2 on 63%. He and Randle looked excellent next to each other in the pre-season.

Then you retain Jordan Hill in his true role of backup C next to Ryan Kelly at PF. Black and Sacre then are the third-stringers.

You seriously think LA would offer Dragic the max? Seems a little extreme, no? At 29 years old, I'm not sure he's the best piece for a rebuild.

I agree, I'd do this to.

Trade all picks and Randle for Westbrook...
Do whatever it takes!
Westbrook will make 18mil in 2016 when the cap will go to 90mil... That would leave the Lakers 72mil to spend!
It's rebuild time for OKC as Durant might leave town as well.
We could find a way to get Love as well if we trade Swaggy P and RKelly to free up that salary.
BTW we would still have 52 mil to spend with Love and Westbrook!
Next year
Westbrook 17 mil Clarkson 1 mil
Kobe 25 mil Elington 1 mil Jabari 1 mil
Wes 1 mil Filler 1 mil
Love 20 mil Davis 4mil
Black 1mil Sacre 1mil

That puts us at 73mil with min guys signing after Love including Davis who has a 1 mil Cap hold.

There is no way OKC does that.

Okc isn't going to trade Westbrook anytime soon but I do think the Lakers ultimate end goal is to set up the roster and cap in a way that they can attract Westbrook in 2017 and vault into contender status.

I think it's to try to steal Durant.
