First, not all of us called him a bust. I actually liked what I watched from him before the draft. He has great defensive feel for the game. The reach plays were almost perfect. He has a great nack for the ball. I think he can improve immensely on offense too. He is too pasive at times except crashing the offensive glass.

Some people on here didn't even want him to sign the comtract and called him piece of ****. I don't know their stance right now.

I think it was primarily due to nance not being a big name prospect

Definitely needs to get stronger if he's gonna bang around with these big bodies in the NBA night in and night out.

I don't see him as necessarily lacking strength as apposed to other rookie tho. Unless you see it differently.

Also, I'm not clear on how his strength relates to his ability to hustle. I'd think that'd be more a function of his speed, athleticism, and on the court work ethic. Which to me it seems he has tons of.

Referring to those putback dunks he loves doing. Not gonna be easy with bigger more experienced guys boxing you out. But then again, small ball playing teams play to his advantage.

Nance's game will come down to earth a little bit as the season starts, but he's still a surprisingly great pick.

He's been impressive so far. If his athleticism holds up, he'll be a fun player to watch for us.

What I like about this pick and even Brown is that both of them know their limitations and their roles and know that they have to defend to stay in the league. Quite refreshing after years of guys like Nick Young, Carlos Boozer, Lin and Ryan Kelly. You know that they try to defend but you also know that its not their priority and how they view themselves and their role.

Great athleticism...pretty decent footwork. He gets rebounds like Tristan Thompson. His body is NBA ready. Too much upside to this guy. The lakers have had an incredible offseason when factoring upshaw and nance.

Wished hid dad gave him a thorough shooting lesson. Ugly looking shooting stroke, one of the ugliest I have ever seen. But like a lot of you said, Jr. Is el primo energy guy and an athletic freak.

I still dont think he's gona be a very good player but I am seeing the "hustle" type energy from him. Although when you look at the guy we did pass up like Hunter or Looney, you actually see legit talent out of them.

Kinda reminds me of Collinson from OKC

Clearly this guy has court vision and that's something you can't learn.
He can rebound and play on the defensive end.

If he can add some weight and continue to work on his game he could be a solid rotation player

Oh, so you'd rather endure the degenerative back that comes with Looney over Nance. K got it. Don't quit your day job to become an exec.

Looney is an amazing talent

A 4/3 tweeter with plus rebounding an a outside shot that can work

Nance has the mArking is a hustle player at best. Something that can be had for a late 2nd or UFA

Maybe he is the next Shane battier. I don't think so. I like his hustle. But I would like it more if he could hit a 3

And looney is far superior.

Looney is a college freshman, and is q super athlete, 6'10 pf/sf... In the draymomd Green mold...like the 30th pick last year where the Spurs stashed Kyle Anderson fro. UclA, the Warriors nab another bruin at 30 who fits the mold and I am shocked teams passed

Lakes should have taken looney over nance
But the worst part is, that's probably not our worst 1st round pick this year

Give him chance. He has speed and nice vertical jump.

Like Mitch said, wait until 4th year, who will be right.

I never paid attention to Looney until the draft. As much as I like Nance, because of Ty, I am interested in seeing how Looney developes with his career from here and on. And the closer I look at Looney and how hes played in the Summer League, he would have been nice to play along Russell especially with his range. Looney couls even solve the issue with the starting SF spot or at least provide better depth.

Nance and Looney will always be on my mind and I will keep a close eye on their careers.
