Who should lakers get to fill out rotation?

Post#1 » by JSURI444 » Sun Jul 5, 2015 5:52 am

Try a 3 y 15$m deal for kj, if rockets match pursue gerald green with the same offer and if we have jordan hills bird rights bring him for the $3m level exception.
Pg- d angelo russell
Sg- kobe bryant
Sf- gerald green
Pf- julius randle
C- roy hibbert
6th- jordan clarkson
7th- nick young
8th- tarik black
9th- anthony brown
10th- larry nance jr
11th wesley johnson
12th jordan hill
13th infamous sacre lol
Not sure about the order from 9-13 tho. Definitely better than last year tho so thats good news

Lakers won't offer anyone more than a year, so work with that in mind. I just want to see some new faces rather than Hill or Wes Johnson.

I agree with Slava in that I doubt we'll do anything beyond 2 yr deal with a non-guaranteed 2nd year, mostly 1 yr deals again.

So even though I'd love to snag McDaniels away from Houston, here's my list of candidates to fill out the roster that fit the above criteria:

PGs

Ronnie Price
Jameer Nelson
Donald Sloan
Rodney Stuckey
Dwight Buycks

SFs

Dorell Wright
Gerald Green
Wesley Johnson

Cs

Jordan Hill
Kevin Seraphin
Jason Smith (whom we contacted apparently)
Larry Sanders (I like him as a third center option, great low risk high reward for vet min or a super cheap 1 yr deal)

Im assuming our line-up is:

Russell/Clarkson/Bryant/Randle/Hibbert
2014: Randle / Clarkson
2015: Russell / Nance
2016: Ingram / Zubac
2017: Top 3 Pick? Fultz, Ball or Bust

SF- Moe Harkless (Magic has too many wings in their rotation). Trade Kelly straight-up for him.
C- Sanders. Low risk, high reward guy, maybe he can resurrect his career with us.

C- Hibbert/Sanders/Upshaw
PF-Randle/Black/Nance Jr
SF-Harkless/Young/A.Brown
SG-Kobe/J.Brown
PG-Russell/Clarkson

Towel Wavers- Sacre/Price

Holy **** no more one year deals. How many times must we repeat the same stupid mistakes. Open had it right. Throw some money at Kj McDaniels for a long term contract

Sanders is done and to bring him into a locker room with Upshaw is possibly one of the worst thing to do when trying to get Upshaw back on track.

We need some serviceable veterans who can help develop our young core. Either way we just need to start trying to win games give Kobe a team that can be competitive for his last year and hope next off-season we can land a few max level type players with the cap room we have.

Don't think we should sign anyone else. Keep some flexibility during the season in case an opportunity comes up or a need arises. Too many unknowns ATM.

We're gonna see how Our rookie PG does, our rookie (essentially) PF does, and our new Center. Roy will turn 29 early in the season, so I dont know how long-term that position can be considered filled. But it's not an immediate problem. I think Kobe and Clarkson will have the 2 covered, so we really aught to spend our efforts on finding a young SF. Just go sign 2-3 of these guys, and lets weed them out. If someone's decent, we keep. If not, go get someone good next offseason.

R-Kelly is under contract, and we got Sacre again.....so we have some backup at those spots (hopefully it doesnt come to that!)
