Oh training camp talk... it's hard not to get caught up in it, but every player is always optimistic, has new skills, newfound resolve, and all that. Not that I'm not excited to see how this squad gels on the court, but the talk is all fools gold.

That video of Randle hitting two 3s is a perfect example. Literally could make a video of any player in the league doing that. Literally any single player, even Dwight and Deandre.

So anyhow, 82-0 coming up.

Believe it or not, I'm actually pretty optimistic about this season. Nice mix of young and old, good skill level, should be interesting. It takes until preseason games to really see where anything is at though. Even team scrimmages can be super misleading as to who's coming out hot.

Next Sunday, the Lakers are opening up practice to season ticket holders so I can't wait to see them in person. I am not too optomistic about this season though. It will be another losing season but I want to see the continued development of the young guys more then anything.

There's a lot of negativity on here with regards to the upcoming season, but people seem to be overlooking our one major improvement this offseason. I think an essential piece to being competitive that we've been missing the last couple years was elite rim protection. Long gone are the days of lay up lines to the bucket. Gone are the days of having 6 power forwards and one third string center (sacre). We're not rolling with Jordan Hill as our defensive anchor anymore. I'm hopping on the wagon everyone, come join me. Our defense will be much better and even if Kobe goes down we've got enough talent to be a competitive .500 win team.

Should be nice to see Kobe tomorrow. Should be relatively rested after yesterday's break and playing only 12 minutes the day before.

We could probably get away with playing Nance Jr and Kelly together along with Black on the 2nd unit. I kind of like the potential of that. Nance is the weakside help defender who can also defend SFs while Kelly can space the unit.
